Finji found some audio of Trestman talking up his players before the Grey Cup. He said, shit ya not, "Arrive at the moment you created." I think that was one of those seven-segmented banners on the wall of my 6th grade English classroom, beneath "Success comes in cans, not in cannots" and adjacent to "I don't give grades, you earn them."

My prediction is that he will sound just like Dick Jauron. In transition, Dan will say "I was wowed. He knocked it out of the park. He did everything right, he said all the right things. This is a football mind, not a football mime, but a football mind. It feels really good to know that Really Smart People are running the Bears." Then Mac or Spiegs will say "doesn't he remind you a little of Dick Jauron, though?" to which he'll reply "yeah, that was bad, wasn't it" or "No. This is different. He talked football stuff."

Quite frankly, I actually like this hire the more I hear & read about Marc Trestman. In fact, consider yourselves warned right now. Laurence Holmes sits in for Boers tomorrow & Friday, and I bet he'll force Bernstein to replay his chat with BTN's Russ Lande, also with the National Football Post from Holmes' own nighttime SCORE. Lande told Holmes that Trestman can turn Jay Cutler into an elite QB. He better.

Good call. They roll him out just before each big presser.

Why? Think of how the league can pass coaches by over one or two years while they're coaching. Like Lovie and the Tampa 2, for example. Trestman's been out of the league altogether for eight. That's not good.
