Apparently, not everyone nationally is thrilled about the Bears' selection of Marc Trestman as their new HC. CBSSports.com's Gregg Doyel tweeted the following from Mike Freeman moments ago. I have since re-tweeted this article on my own Twitter feed @ABSHARKSports...

Self promotion is a beautiful thing. Good work SHARK.

Well, not everyone is thrilled by the hire. A certain bald-headed Editor/Publisher of Pro Football Weekly & "Sunday Night Football" sideline reporter with his good buddies Dave Sims & James Lofton on Dial Global Radio, as well as a guy who will team with Connor McKnight Friday at Binny's Beverage Depot in the South Loop for a live SCORE broadcast will probably thumb his nose at this hiring come 5P. That's Hub Arkush.

Twitter is really good for sports news. specially Fantasy football stuff. Pretty much every article I read now comes through my twitter feed.

It's not that hard to get on Twitter. If you follow me, there's a certain little 1 year old baby girl sharing space with me in my profile photo. That's Baby Rose. The one different between Twitter & Facebook...Only 140 characters to Tweet.

I suddenly have more weekend time. Hope I can still play softball if UPS allows.

hey CH, for what it's worth from a random dumbass on the board.... you've owned the bears coaching search coverage coverage. in the parlance of the end-of-the-howard-stern-relevance-era "we speak your name."

"Just a reminder not to be duped by things."

I have a feeling these drops would come in mighty handy about three years from now. You know, if this show were in any way capable of self-reflection of any kind.

Oh good, that useless Caller Bob Hub is coming on to enlighten us about his thoughts on Mark Trestman. I'm betting he says he doesn't like it, which means it will work out well.

I'm also sure Dave Toub going to the Chiefs will surely get them to the SB next year.

PS: I think you're right about the Bears ball-washing resulting from a corporate directive. McNeil's never met a Bears employee he wouldn't call a "pud_____ on a ___," and he's spent two weeks preaching forbearance. Spiegel said today that Trestman brings instant credibility with Cutler because "Cutler will have to listen to someone whose resume is so much more impressive than his"; I'm not a Cutler fan, but in what universe is Marc Trestman's resume more impressive than Jay Cutler's? And of course you have Dan transmogrifying into some screeching Emery-slurping chimera composed of equal parts Intellectual Elitist Bernstein, Wannabe Football Intellectual Bernstein, and PR Expert Bernstein. Maybe every one of those guys suddenly believes in everything the Bears do, but that seems unlikely, doesn't it?

Unrelated: apparently today's been "an amazing Twitter day." Cool!

I also love love LOVE them playing Mike Lombardi clips at every update. Mike Lombardi once spent the #7 overall pick on Michael Huff. His opinion of Marc Trestman carries as much weight as that of the average Score caller.

Let's play a new game, called:

Bernstein Talking About Manti Te'o *OR* CSFMB Posters Talking About Bernstein?

I'll start.

I'd rather hear Rongey (or Randazzo later when he does updates on the Holmes show tonight) use the clip of Marv Levy from the "Mac & Spiegs Show" when talking about the new Bears' head coach.

When this year's awards season kicks off, i'm going to try REAL HARD tp remember that you used the phrase "emery-slurping chimera" in proper context.

Ball's in your court, CH. Try to work cthulu into.this if you could, please =D

I don't think McNeil's been on board with a lot of stuff the Bears have done lately, and I don't think he's toeing any "company line'.
