Btw this show still makes me want to barf. "Oh Jay, we support you 100%", don't these people realize that Cutler thinks fans are pathetic. He's one of those 'you're not in our shoes, you don't really know anything, we're above you' types. It's so sad to hear the people who will defend the guy tooth and nail no matter what and having this show as an avenue to try and impress him. The funny thing is these are the same people who probably ridicule anyone who rips on Jay as a meatball or similar lame insults. Look in the mirror first, derp derp derp

I don't know that he, or any professional athlete, thinks that all fans are pathetic, but he doesn't hide the fact that he rolls his eyes when fans or media say "Why didn't you just do _____?!?!"

There aren't many of us who would react differently if people who had never done our job before tried to tell us we just should have done this or that, as if it were that easy.

Someone brought up the Jay Cutler Show to L Holmes last week and he said "what show? As far as I'm aware Jay Cutler does not have his own show", then they came back from commercial and he was laughing as he said "despite what you guys are texting, there is no Jay Cutler Show. As far as I'm concerned the Score is your one and only stop for all Bears coverage"

It was really lame

That's terrible.

I think any great player has to be super confident and cocky at times and Cutler has that. If you think a guy like Drew Brees or Tom Brady actually gives two shits what the fans say/think then you're mistaken.

Peyton Manning has made a career out of blaming others. (A little less blunt than Jay, but still)

IIRC Dan Marino was constantly yelling or pointing at someone else after every almost every incompletion or turnover. Seems like he never thought anything was his fault.

That's probably the best way to handle it.

That's better than not to acknowledge it at all....hell even when the Allen Pinkett stuff was going on and The Score was replaying the hell out of it, Silvy gave them the proper credit.

I was able to listen to a podcast of Cutler's show this morning and the one Rodgers' does for ESPN Milwaukee this afternoon. The details have been signed, sealed and delivered but the format of Cutler's show should've been more like Rodgers. This likely impossible to replicate but Rodgers has a great rapport with Jason Wilde (Packer's ESPN beat writer) the interviewer. Wilde focuses more on substantive football-related questions while sprinkling the gossip question here and there. Silvy was asking the the high school gossip and amateur college psych questions that should be touched on but not the focus of the show. (Also Silvy should shut the fuck up and let Cutler finish his Cadillac spot without interruption.). But even the interviewer may not matter as Waddle asked a couple reasonable football questions and Cutler was pretty defensive and combatative.

They definitely should adopt an "inside the helmet" segment where W&S pick a few specific plays and have Cutler describe the play, covereage, decision-making process. Rodgers really enlightens the listener with what's ocurring with the defense, his thought process and result. They sort of did this with the Marshall drop and Marshall double-coverage pick.

Ultimately, the entertainment of the show depends on Cutler (duh). I still enjoyed the show with the way he dicked around W&S with his asshole attitude. But he really could make it really informative and substantive if he wanted too.

I also thought Silvy was a dick for interrupting his promo. Overall Cutler made me laugh several times. But yeah he's not very informative or anything.

He comes across like he does everywhere and with everything else. Like he doesnt want to be there, all the questions he has to answer are stupid as are everyone who is asking them ( even the former pro WR) and nobody can have a correct opinion on anything game related because theyre not part of the team. I dont know how much theyre paying a guy who already makes millions of dollars a year to come and do these shows but my guess is it wont last the entire season if the Bears are bad. Cutler wont stick around for it.

The first week, it was more X's and O's. I just think with the recent Shove-gate thing going on, they focused more on that.

I'm not that familar with Silverman as a interviewer as I prefer Mac & Meat, so I'll give Silvy the benefit of the doubt. Though, the interrupting Cutler's Caddy read was annoying as shit.

I'm just not sure if Cutler is suited for an hour radio show.

Another good show today. Some idiot called in and asked him about his hair from the post game presser yesterday.

Don't tell Mac. I wonder if the fact that Cutler is on 1000 during Mac's timeslot is why Mac has such a hard on for the the guy.

I doubt it. A lot of Bear fans feel like Mac does. Like MITC said, what Mac was saying about Cutler is fair, it just comes off as hypocritical coming from him.

I think the idea is that we are supposed to love guys that play for the home teams no matter how much of a douche they come off as or are.

I don't see what the big deal was. It may have been the smart play. If Tice had screwed up the prior play calling and Cutler was mad it may have been better to step away and collect your thoughts before really lipping off. He talked with Tice shortly after "the incident", which was largely ignored. There were so many things Cutler could have done that would have really been disrespectful or chemistry affecting. This wasn't one of them.
