I agree with you on the folly of taking games off channel 9. However, there have been separate Chicago/America feeds for WGN for a while now, at least 16 years (it has to do with syndication rights, largely), and Cubs/Sox games always air on both feeds. Some Bulls games are on both and some are just local. Hawks games are just local. It's all terribly confusing and annoying, but it doesn't have anything to do with the Cubs. The problem is their offloading of games to CLTV, FSN--->CSN, and most ignominiously, channel 26.

I disagree on Milwaukee being bad. Milwaukee was an NL town to begin with, and the Cubs-Brewers rivalry has been fun. I think if you've been a Cubs fan in Wisconsin, you'll stay a Cubs fan.

Guys, the reason why "WGN Sports on The U" exists is because WGN's parent company signed a deal many years ago as an affiliate of the long since defunct WB Television Network, now known as the CW. That explains why WCIU 26 The U has been carrying Cubs, White Sox & Bulls' games for many years now, mainly on weeknights so that WGN's CW9 can air WB/CW programming. WGN Sports still produces the games, but I think their affiliation with the WB/CW was a mistake on their end.

Did Dan just say that an adult getting an autograph is immoral?

Mad you can't afford tickets? MAKE. MORE. MONEY...just don't do it by taking advantage of the athletes you want to see.

Dan, as a child, was able to get Ali's (or was it Hank Aaron?) attorney to get him an autograph?

I suspect his childhood experiences were different than mine own.

Alright, I got off topic 'cause this topic drives me nuts (yarrrr).

Who cares if Larry thinks getting an autograph as an adult fan (and not as a re-seller) is creepy? Really? That little round-headed prick sure as shit knows what creepy is, but doesn't quite know how to properly label things apparently. Apparently he doesn't even listen to his own shows.

Immoral? Jesus Christ, please. What's sad is it's not likely a bit, Dan thinks that, and his sanctimony is just unwanted because this isn't a topic that even needs to be talked about other than "you know, getting autographs isn't for me, and I particularly don't like those folks that take advantage of these atheletes". Fine, that's his call, and I can see how he arrives at that. But the over-reaching bullshit he can jam up his ass with a sharp hickory stick.

It is funny when elitist Bernstein comes out.

My son doesn't care about autographs. He cares much more about all the athletes he has met!

I remember when I was a kid at Wrigley you used to be able watch the players walk through a hallway with a cage-like divider and Vida Blue walked by me. I still remember that and I didn't even interact with the guy.

But, he was the guy from the rain delay videos!

Yea, it's nice that Bernsy and his dad both enjoyed sports and that he enjoys sports with his kid. They could use their connections to get some sweet opportunities.

Neither my grandpa or dad really cared for sports very much. :|

Well, let's see. Yankee Stadium cost $1.5 billion. CitiField cost $900 million. The Loriatorium cost $634 million. 611 for Target Field, 545 for Nats Park. So, um, I would ballpark-estimate, as it were, $750 million for a new park?

But then you have nothing to do at night if you don't get lucky and find an unattended child near the exit of Space Mountain.

More depressing is that Van Halen's first album is 35 years old. Fuck me.

Everybody that first listened to Van Halen is dying off.

Have a great day, DT!

Laurence seemed to recognize Ace of Base right away as "The Second Half" began. I wonder if the Tribune's Steve Rosenbloom will recognize any other music beds 24 hours from now when he sits in for Terry.

Actually, its not hard to believe at all. 2013 minus 1993 gives us 20. Its just simple math.

I feel ya DT. I remember buying the first Van Halen album at my local Woolworths for $5.96. I came back about a week later and bought the brand new AC/DC album For Those About To Rock on 8 track! I was quite the metalhead in 6th grade.
