I usually like listening to Hub, and I always like listening to Hub more than the other guy usually in this time slot. But boy is Hub the consummate diplomat. He avoids confrontation with callers like the plague. It's probably because he doesn't want to offend any potential purchasers of his publication, but damn does it get annoying when a caller clearly needs the Bernstein treatment.

Caller: "I hate everything you say, Hub. You are a cry baby, sore loser who is mad at the Bears for firing your lame, bald ass...and I wish Ray Lewis would have killed you -"

Hub: "Now hold on, Sir...I gotta interrupt you one second. I'll let you finish though, but I want to disagree about the Bears firing me. I was not fired. Now go ahead and continue with your thought."

Caller: "You lying piece of garbage, I hate everything about you Hub, the Bears made the right call on firing your -"

Hub: "Sir, I told you I'd let you finish. I appreciate your opinion, but I don't want it misconstrued as to my situation with the Bears. We can agree to disagree, but I just wanted to make it known that I was not fired by the Bears. Now go ahead, finish your thought."

Caller: "You bald headed, piece of -"

Hub: "I apologize about that, but we are not allowed to put words like that live on the air. I wish we could because I understand the caller's frustration, but I just had to hit the button. Sorry about that sir. Thank you for listening."

Yeah pretty sure he's exaggerating. The point still stands that Hub as a host is instant PTFB radio. I'm not that crazy about him in the 10-15 segments he regularly gets.

I was exaggerating a little but this example is pretty much how he treats callers who don't like him. But unlike this example caller who I'll call Tyrone, most callers end up being polite to Hub at the end after he kills them with kindness.
