Cuz it's the only justified reason for him to behave and talk like a child.

"Hmmmmmm, Dan, that's really really interesting point. I guess I agree with you."

"I'm doing a show at Sox fest. It's gonna be really, really great."

"Dan, how can we solve the Rooney rule. It really, really bugs me."

"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha"

"Wanna hear a story, Dan? I was at NBC five and my friend, Cheryl Scott, said she was hungry. So I was like, so am I. So then I said, how bout we get something to eat. So we did that. Then we weren't hungry anymore. Ya know, cuz we ate food.

That's certainly part of it. Has to be more than just that, however. It's weird. Larry also talks without saying anything. Dan makes the hard commentary and Larry just kind of acts like the wide eyed bimbo to everything he says

"Hmmm, Dan, I guess I agree with that. I'm gonna go home and think about that. That's really, really interesting."

Yeah. He takes on Bernstein cadence and style. He fawns over Bernstein. Hangs on his every word. Is totally engaged in every little thing that Bernstein says. Laughs at everything he says. Compliments him.

For the love of God, he's like a love-sick school girl.

The B&B producers should make this the open for every Bernstein-Larry show...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpIazkOqBVc

While it is true, every single younger hosts does this. Even Spiegley does it with Mac.

Grote and Finfer might be the best young guys they have as they have their own thoughts.

Mac is trying to clean it up. It's his last broadcasting ambition. Then he rides off into crackerville!!!!

Everyone knows someone like that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, cuz I don't remember too much of Larry when he first got air time at the Score, but I'm gonna say he wasn't like this. So he consciously decided to become Forrest Gump? A simpleton that laughs like a hyena at anything. Or at least when he's with his beloved Bernstein. I don't get that. I pretty much only hear him during transition or when he subs on the B&B show.

Ask yourself one question Beardown.

Of the two types of Laurence you described, which one would get him in better graces with Bernstein?

There's you answer! (Its ALL downtown)

Hey beardown, so what if he DOES have some sort of "special" problem? Let's say he has a diagnosis, do you then feel bad for calling him "special"? There is no bigger hater of LoHo on the radio than me, trust me on this, but what does suggesting that he has some sort of mental problem/retardation do? Makes you feel like a big man, I guess? Or are you projecting your own mental issues on to a guy that you hear on the radio?

I know the chances are slim that you'll ever impregnate a female, but if you ever did and that kid had some sort of "special" problem I doubt you'd be scurrying in here and (for the 10,000th time) clicking the NEW TOPIC button to attempt to slander someone with the term 'special'.

Cue your predictable backtrack-y response where you deflect criticism as others taking things too seriously, and some lame self-deprecating jab before you run off to hit NEW TOPIC again.

I agree. I was going to post something like this but this covers it very well, if somewhat harshly - except the "hater of LoHo" part. #bigfan

All I did was ask the question. I know damn well he's not. That's why it's weird that he behaves the way he does.

Christ, B&B call 100 people retarded during a normal week. At least I used the PC word.

This righteous indignation--and thread--is stupid because Larry isn't "special." He's obviously of above-average intelligence. He just acts like an unctuous bitch on the radio.

My indignation was more of a pandering, self-serving kind of thing.
