Crawford was scheduled to start the game because they have two nights off and Ray Emery sucks.

Getting Helm and Bertuzzi back has made all the difference in the world for Detroit, apparently, as they beat the Parisuters 5-3 with them back in the lineup. I'd like to think most of that is Helm; no team should be getting a jolt from Todd Bertuzzi. Damien Brunner is the truth, though; we know that much. Dan Cleary will look like a star for one night only.

Three straight 3-2 wins means the Hawks are really outpacing their scoring differential and are in danger of falling hard. Right now their Pythagorean expectation is 7.5 points. Half-points are impossible, of course, but I'm sure you get my full point.

EDIT: oh man their defense is bad. They had to shore it up already by adding (doot do-do-dooo) Kent Huskins!

Saw a stat (can't remember the specifics) but so far, teams in Detroit's position are dominating. Will be interesting to track all season long.

Lehtonen almost pulled out the "tip your cap" win. Tonight Howard will pull it out for the Winged Wheel. Putting the O/U on Kronwall leaving his feet for a dirty hit at 2.5.

Well. One solid kill and one power play goal. Seems like special teams are coming along. This is nice. Hawks have a winning streak equal to more than 10% of the season. Sweet.
