Princess Meat hit below the belt with his part-time comment. Publicly taking a shot at a guy's job status in defense is a dickhead move. It's not timely, relevant, professional and its about as un-classy as it gets. An equally classless response to him would have been to call him a 400 lb lazy fat fuck on the air and in front of his family. That's how not cool that was.

Agreed.

Spiegal does a lot of things that show a lack of dedication to his work. He should be prepared to take a little ribbing over them.

Pretty classy by Spiegs to just explicitly apologize to Drinky a few seconds ago about this.

It seems so simple but apologizing is a difficult thing, especially in a testosterone driven business like sports talk. It is a great indication of character.

Was it sincere? Probably not. He probably just felt bad that people thought he was an ass hole. So he had to make good for that reason.

The day isn't saved. You can't put this tooth paste back in the tube. The "Spiegel vs. Drinky" war was going on before this episode. Now drinky knows that Spiegel has no personal or professional respect for him. Sure, Spiegel will go out of his way to play nice with drinky for a while because of this latest event. But drinky will always hate Spiegel. Spiegel will always hate drinky. There will always be tension between the two. Even if they publicly pretend to cool with one an other. There will be another on air fight. You can't count on it.

As Pearl Jam once said, "Some words when spoken, can't be taken back."

Here's a good example of a Beardown post that would be dismissed by many but its 100% on point.

Even when a co worker apologizes, after saying something like that, you're not gonna look at them the same.

I think Spiegs is sorry that he said it, he seems to have a lot of guilt and self-loathing issues.

However, you never ever say something like that - unless you have gone nuclear.

Miss a little, miss a lot. Maybe they should stop the transition thing. I feel it is forced most times. Mully & Hanley are right to not do it.

Like I said, good old drinky will never forgive or forget. He's not that type. He's a grudge holder like his radio pappy, Terry Boers. But the sad thing for him is that every time he brings it up, he's actually reminding people that Spiegel got him good. So Spiegel continues to win. It's a weird position for drinky. He wants to let people know that Spiegel is an asshole, but in doing so, he has to remind people of how Spiegel insulted and humiliated him.

This twitter exchange is an example. Even the boss, who is responsible for not promoting drinky, is laughing at drinky. With his comment, Mitch is saying that Spiegel gave a good zinger. Oy. You can't really win, drink. This sucks for you.

Wrong. Drinky is a lazy hack who hides under Bernstein's skirt. There is a reason he's hardly ever on the air - it's because he sucks. Fuck, Joe O. and Connor get more air time than he does.

Why was Goff picked on by "Team Mac"? Why is drinky currently picked on by "Team Mac"? That's the question. I believe the answer is simple. M&S see Bernstein's influence on them. They really can't defeat Bernstein. It's tough. Spiegel has tried and failed. Mac is still trying to figure out how to kill him. Bernstien is a tough cookie. You can't really beat him. They can't kill Boers either.

But they know they can get Bernstein's soldiers. They're not as sharp and/or shrewd as Bernstein. They're producers. They know they out rank them. That's why they go after them. I think Mac and Spiegel have been offended that the B&B producers hide behind Bernstein with their attitudes.

Goff was a cocky m' fer. So is drinky. Mac and Spiegs want to put them in their place. And they know they can.

1. I agree. Drink shouldn't forgive or forget. Spiegs meant what he said. He thinks drinky is a no-talent hack that's too cocky for his own good. The apology wasn't sincere.

2. Mitch, as a boss, shouldn't be joking about his employees fighting. It's just not what a boss of a big time radio station should do. But this goes back to Mitch being a weak, scared boss. He should address this with drink and Spiegs in his office. Maybe even suspend Spiegel. But he doesn't like confrontation. That's why shit like this is allowed to happen at the Score.

Hey.

Dan.

Hey.

Hey. Bernstein.

That caller just said the Cubs should trade for Mark DeRosa again?

Well I agree. I think Bob made a great call. The Cubs should definitely trade for DeRosa again. Even though they never traded for him before.

Yeah.

It'd be great. Bob had a great idea. You're just so dumb, Dan. Why can't you see what a brilliant move that would be.

Can't really beat him? Mc Neil spent a decade beating the absolute snot out of B and B. He gets better ratings than them today and B and B loses audience after a strong lead in. Don't think for a second that both Dans are not aware of these facts. While we have the board intelligensia telling us about recession contracts, I have a feeling the two Dan's are comparably compensated. Bernstien has one thing over Dan right now and that is control of the afternoon show. However, being an observer of metrics, he knows his position in that slot is unjustified by production compared to Mc Neil. Bernstien is essentially the King of England, a titular (he he) head with no real powers other than the love of some fawning sentimentalists.
