Coming out of Bankruptcy, anyone know someone with deep pockets that might be willing to buy WGN radio?

Tommy Boy? He could control his own advertising sales then, build a WGN radio studio at Wrigley in his new playpen?

Then he needs a guy to run it? Kappy? Turn it into a 24 Sports Yawker station,. considering they need a complete overhaul at WGN and the reason Tommy Boy buys them is to promote his $1 Billion toy?

It does make sense. Plus would give WSOX* a run for their money.

Kerry Wood and Silvy 9-1 (Silvy already works with a guy that says nothing, so perfect)
Harry, Kap and North 1-6 (Yeah, I know it is a volatile mix right there...either goes big or blows up and you go find Carmen to clean it up and keep it safe)

Evenings - Conor McDoink live from the park in the front window type of thing alone. he hasnt been Score infected yet so much that he cant shake it.

*NOTE: I dont think WSCR is All Sox by any means, but they do kiss some ass and rarely talk about anything bad for the Sox, with the exception of on the field play.

I wouldn't want to hear the hosts kiss Cub ass all the time. Would he really allow his radio employees to say anything negative about the product?

Murph and Kap would have to be a show. North can find another slot and partner.

Of course he wouldnt, he would buy the station to promote the Cubs. Not saying I would like it, but for him it is a great business move.

I am actually really surprised Jerry never got a radio station, I know he looked into it.

Of course with the Sox announcers nothing is going to work anyways until they get new ones, which I still think will be a disaster because the test of a good announcer on the Southside is "Does Jerry like them".

The concept makes a lot of sense. I would get Jiggets/North back together for a segment. Jiggets was always the most underrated of hosts. Get Murph on too. As a lifelong Cubs guy with all the knowledge he has of the team and it's history, he would have to be included.

Other than CSFMB this is your best idea ever. Makes a lot of sense in a lot of ways. WGN lost its focus over 15 years ago. The 45 to 65 demo from back then is dead and/or dying. Their daytime lineup blows with the possible exception of Meier and I only tune him in at 6 because Larry is the worst listen in radio history. GN has lost their old audiance, why not build a new one.

Another WGN thought. This high maintinence unit they have on at 10 P may be worse than Larry. What a self important witch she is. I usually like female radio hosts but her show is about 2:59 too long.

Buying the Euro at $1.25 this summer was really foolish
