Hawger, the tricky part of any potential contract for Brandon is that whole poison pill stipulation, and all the intricacies that go along with it. It puts a lot of pressure on a team to retain.

This past Summer, many players who are on mostly the same trajectory as Brandon all signed extensions with their team for approximately $11 million per:
Jrue Holiday
Stephen Curry
Ty Lawson

Even starting All-Star PG Rajon Rondo averages $11 mil per.

It's pretty obvious to me that Brandon asked for more than that, or else a deal would've got done this past Summer I would think.

There's a few max types out there - CP3, Rose and Westbrook. In no way, shape or form should Brandon consider himself part of that group.

Thanks for answering this and I agree he is not even in the same gym as those 3.
