Ok this is not going to be for everyone but that's OK and I get that. I just ask that you refrain from making the unnecessary jokes that I'm sure many of you would be thinking. Now wouldn't be the time for it. Thank you in advance.

I have a close friend that works at http://www.guardianangelhome.org/ in Joliet here and I would like to try and set something up with people from the board that we do something to help those in need. Donspiracy and I talked about doing some sort of a toy drive back in December and I totally dropped the ball on it, making excuses that I had stuff with the holiday's and etc etc. Well no more time for excuses I'm wanting to set something up. I would like to see if we could either do one of two things, if not both. These women and children are in need of supplies and could probably use a good meal because a loved one hurt them and they had no place else to go. My friend said that we really can't do a cooking on site, but we could cook and bring them food. Another possibility is a school supply drive or even an Easter Egg hunt. If anyone has any ideas please throw them out and we can try and set this all up. Thanks again, and like I said, PLEASE be respectful about this.

The food thing is a good idea.

I'd be down to help with whatever as long as I'm free that day.

I'm absolutely in on this if I don't have a previous engagement. Let's set something up.

I will contact the Guardian Angel home tomorrow and see what it takes to provide a dinner night or what they specifically take for food donations. I do have access to commercial grade cooking equipment right there in Crest Hill. Will check and see if they only take canned goods or we can pass the hat around and put together a hot meal for an evening and take volunteers from the board to setup and serve the food.

"Donations of consumable supplies or furnishings help to reduce overhead expenses." This is a bit vague kinda statement and will follow up tomorrow. Please PM me if you are interested in helping out and don't want to blow the cover of your board persona.

That's six already. No way we should get less than 10 people total(which I would think would help a number of people, depending on what we end up doing) if we find an optimal date. Thanks for getting the legwork started don.

My original thoughts on a date were sometime in March maybe March 9th. That gives us about a month to set something up which I think should be enough time(who knows though). Me personally I would like to do something big for the kids. Easter is March 31st this year but there is no reason we can't have some sort of Easter egg hunt with them, including easter baskets. The school supplies shouldn't be a problem either. I'll talk more to my friend tomorrow night and see what she would like us to do. Thanks fellas.

So I guess a fundraiser at a comedy club is out.

I'd be willing to send some cash, but March is a pretty busy month for us so we'd likely be unavailable.

Probably would be easier for me to give $ than time, but I will do what I can for sure.

My mom works at a dental office and can get all kinds of free samples together if that helps at all.

Well, You can do what we do at the Salvation Army. We do a set for each kid for school and put it in a backpack. The food idea is a good one. When I do food pantry it is a great feeling when someone new comes in and are all afraid to be asking for help but when I hand them the box and they realize how heavy it is they have a total look of thankfulness. Food you got to be careful because of food allergies. How many people you talking about? I can't come help in person but I will give what I can, crappy advice and cash.
