B&B seem to think it's automatic that no one can beat the Heat from the East in a 7 game series. Do you agree?

I think Indiana might be able to beat them if the Indiana had the home court.

Right now, they are already the NBA Champions. The Heat are far & away the team to beat in an awful Eastern Conference. I'm still waiting to find out who the second best team in the East is. The Knicks? Not impressed. The Pacers? Ditto. The Nets? Absolutely not. The Bulls? The Hawks? Miami beats whoever their opponent in an EC Final in at least 5 games.

If the Heat don't repeat, teams like the Thunder & Spurs might be best equipped in a top heavy Western Conference.

Of all the teams in the west, the only one I'd guarantee would beat Los Heat in the Finals would be San Antonio.

Pretty much my take as well. They are favored but can be beat...even when the real games start in the playoffs. It will be tough, but they can be beat.

Pacers and Bulls are first choices. Celts, NYK and Nets need serious breaks.

They talked about this on Inside the NBA last night. Basically the East is the Heat, and everyone else. Anyone could beat anyone when looking at 2-8th, and the Heat will probably have a cake walk to the finals. I don't think anyone in the East could beat them.

The Celtics are obviously worse
The Knicks are not very good
The Nets are not very good.
The Bulls are worse than they have been the last two seasons.
Everyone else is just a big blah...

Before the Nuggets destroyed the Bulls late last night, the John Lithgow-looking George Karl said that if Derrick Rose & the Bulls are healthy, he still thinks the Bulls might be the second best team in the East. Truth be told, that's not saying much, but it's a crapshoot beyond Miami.

The Bulls haven't played them in the playoffs since 2011. Defensively the Bulls were in every game with the Heat. Last year the loss to the 76ers sort of exposed players like Korver, Brewer, Watson and Asik for what they were, which was average role players who couldn't score consistently down the stretch. The Bulls do miss Asik's defense, but you don't necessarily need a huge center against the Heat because they don't have a dominant center. If they meet up this year Rose will be the deciding factor.

No. The Bulls will make it out of the East this year if all the starters, including Rose, are healthy. If not, the Heat will lose to the Thunder or Spurs in the Finals.

They've had Chris Bosh playing center in Miami, and he's not necessarily a true center.

I hope you are right, but isn't that pretty much the same thing people were saying last year at this time too?

The "may I come in?" soundbite is the best thing about this show now.

How can you be the "next" NBA champions if you already are the NBA champions?

My silly little guess is that while the Heat are the best team I think this 82 game season will take something out of them. Either Wade's knees or Ray Allen or some other breakdown. I am perplexed as to why B&B can't see that besides LeBron they are pretty old. Like as old as Celtics.

The Heat are going through the motions that every NBA Champion has endured in recent years, and that includes the 6 Bulls' NBA Championship teams of the '90s. How does an NBA Championship team get motivated for games against the Bobcats, Pistons, Cavaliers, Wizards & Raptors, for example? That being said, if guys like LeBron, D.Wade & Bosh go down due to injury, all bets are off.

It depends what day of the week it is. Dan and Terry on Monday talked at length about how now this season matters again, as Miami was sluggish, and the East sucked. Now they're back to the all hail Lebron mantra, since the Bulls got smoked last night. Which is exactly the type of knee jerk change of opinion they rail against.

Regular season games only matter if THEY say that they matter.

Rose and then Noah got hurt last year. I think the Bulls are better than two years ago if fully healthy. Miami's lack of size and depth will be too much for them to overcome this time.

I think the reason why people were calling and disagreeing with them was because Dan makes it seem like the series is over before the games are even played. Sure the Heat have more on paper, but the Celtics and Pacers were within striking distance last year and the Bulls didn't get a shot at them last year.

So the regular season counts because Bernstein is loving LeBron.

I don't buy into SA in the playoffs. Great regular season team, excellent depth, fun team to watch, but they will not reach the the NBA Finals.

Size has been a weakness for Miami so having a center who can defend the paint/rebound is a plus against them. The Bulls are still formidable inside with their 3 man rotation.

It's useless even making a case that a regular season shows the Heat are beatable (if you believe that). Both Boers and Bernstein just say Miami doesn't care when they lose because it's a regular season game. That may be true, it's a long season, etc, but whenever the Heat play a great game, this show goes out of their way to talk about how wonderful the performance was. The usual default is that the regular season doesn't matter except when Miami does something worth noting.

Have been randomly asking execs around NBA who in East poses biggest threat to MIA: NY, CHI, IND, or other. By far most popular answer: CHI.

It's probably Chicago (w/Rose) or Indiana because both teams play great defense. NY will win some games because of Carmelo Anthony, but it's hard to see a team so dependent on 3 point shooting winning a series against Miami.

I think it probably is realistic to concede Miami will likely be headed back to the Finals, but I can't say for sure whether they could beat OKC again.
