He's one of the most talented performers I've ever heard. That said, I don't have any on my iPod, but if it pops up randomly on Pandora I'll listen. Not a huge fan, but I respect his immense talent.

That's another difference between us. I can usually tell within the first minute how I feel about a song. Sometimes within 30 seconds.

I think so. And the kids. When I was a kid, I thought the dancing and the moonwalking stuff was cool. It wasn't until I got older and developed musical chops that I started to listen for the actual music, hence my agreement with Darko that Quincy Jones produced Mike's best work. But I think the women were always into the dancing and gyrating and stuff.

There is only one MJ song I like, but I like it a lot. In fact, I have a crazy theory--that of course can never be proven--that without this one song, MJ does not become the King of Pop and does not go to ultra-superstardom. And that song is Billy Jean. It's like Queen without Bohemian Rhapsody (though I LOVE many Queen songs, as opposed to being indifferent to most MJ).

Bruce Swedien (MJ's recording engineer) wrote a fascinating book about the lengths to which he and Quincy went to get the right sound.
