You should, however, read about the Creeds - Apostle's, Nicene, and the Athanasian. Especially the last one, the long one, the one everybody ignores or don't know about because it's "too long".

And religion is not well suited to the post-Renaissance concept of the "plurality of truth". Christ clearly said that He is "the Way*, the Truth, and the Life", and also very unambiguously states that nobody comes to the Father except through Him.

(* - Fun factoid of the day: 'The Way' was, essentially, how Christianity was referred to for quite some time in the earliest times of the Church, particularly as when was persecuted early on)

I was answering the question if they're the same "god".

But, my personal opinion is that Christianity is correct and all other faiths (or lack thereof) are not. I am then also quick to say that anyone who spends time wondering what I believe probably needs to reassess their own life choices.

My wife and I were raised Catholic. Our son is going to Pre-School at the Presbyterian Church by our house. We've gone to services on Sunday there and a lot of what the minister said is very appealing. They seem to be a very inclusive religion.

No. The "god" they call upon does not exist. There's no comparative in this case, so there can't be an application of "better", "worse", etc. Can't have a big without a small, short without tall.

Well, there has to be. Someone is right and someone is wrong. What do you think is going to happen on Judgment Day when you're facing God and he tells you you spent all that time praying to the wrong guy?

Why are so many people so unwilling to take a stand? It's "tolerance" gone wild. I'm not suggesting you go around knocking down Muslims or tearing turbans off Sikhs, but if you're really a Christian, you damn well better know and understand who your God is and why he's the one you are praying to. If not, what the fuck is the point?

In reality, there is no way that any current religion is close to correct. Too many retellings and translations and corruptions by those who use religion to profit.

Be a good person. Do good things. Avoid doing bad things. Avoid immoral drugs. After you die, when they ask why should go to heaven just say you did good things. I can promise you one thing. When you die and are begging to get into heaven, attending church every Sunday and putting money in a collection tray won't keep a good person out or let a bad person in. However, allowing people to pay for "forgiveness" is a great way to pay the bills.

In listening to the "Christians" on this board- Don Tiny excepted- it's pretty clear why Christianity is a religion on the wane while Islam is on the rise. I hardly think you will be able to find many Muslims who will agree that your God is equal to theirs. While you are elevating Allah to sit at the same table with Yahweh, they are planning to cut your head off for suggesting Jesus is greater than Muhammad. "There is no God but God and Muhammad is his Prophet." That isn't some innocuous religious dogma. That's a manifesto. That's a threat.
