Their RPI as of now is 26th and they have the 5th most difficult strength of schedule in the country. Minnesota is 3rd.

Illinois is 5-3 vs. the Top 25.

I'm a little surprised but I guess that conference record is holding them down. After beating two top 20 teams in a week, they should be knocking on the door at the very least. But I'm also a little surprised Indiana hung on to the top spot after the loss.

I think Painter wanted to be tossed. He's trying to do anything to send a message to this team. Next year can't come soon enough.

Given the situation, I could see how you could think Painter would have done it to fire his team up but it really looked like he was going to go back after him and take a swing. He was losing it.

I was there cheering for the Illini. I would normally be inclined to root for the Cats but I was there on a free Illini ticket and only one team has a chance at the tourney.

Indiana is forcing Illinois into some terrible shot selection.

When Indiana is locked in on defense like they were that first half there are very few teams in the country that can handle them.
