As a semi groupie for the Cover Band "Something for Joey" back in the 90's, those shows were FUN. They didnt do one song any justice. Every song they did was done they way they wanted to.

KUNG FOO FIGHTING - Over Exagerrated "wooooo wooo wooo" to start the song, upbeat version
LOVE WILL KEEP US TOGETHER- No singing by Lead singer, all the crowd singing every word.
COUNTRY ROADS - Fast tempo Version
SPIDERS AND SNAKES - The Heavy Metal Version

Everyone in retro 70's garb

AMAZING TALENT at EVERY SHOW....and the Band was good too! I MEAN "AMAZING"

Bottom Line it was FUN...It was a GREAT TIME!

Been to 2 Tributo shows and these guys are GREAT Musicians. They can replicate the bands sounds almost to a T. Almost perfect.

But in the end....the cover band shows are MUCH More fun,

I have expressed this thought to Senor Spiegs and I was dismissed back to the ranks of the peasants.

Ironically, I think the biggest $$$ makers Tributo has done is when they booked the Park West for 2-3 nights straight of various One Hit Wonders?

When did we start talking about someone else?

He literally brought an intern on air to berate him for not understanding the "value" of getting Spiegel his lunch.

Responsibility and obedience... two virtues lost in today's youth. Praise be to Speigel for guiding that young man.

Besides the fact he was probably just joking around with the intern. It takes Bernsie level of on air arrogance to get me worked up.

I was always a big fan of these guys.

Set up a deal where they did March Madness promos on ESPN a few years back.

Well said!

This whole thread and the "Laurence is cooler than Speigal" thread is a farce, full of bitterness, lies and half truths. A bunch of Larry Fans trying to make hay, it ain't gonna work.

Haters gonna hate.

He's called out interns on air multiple times. He's also called out co-workers.

It seems like you have already made your decision.

He was most certainly NOT joking and he referenced it on the air several times after.

He's a complete jack ass in every way

RPB is definitely a guy that's seeing Speigs in his sleep, when he closes his eyes, when he looks in the mirror, when he stares into the abyss.

That abyss is staring right back at you, RPB.

You are in denial about Speigel

At least I know, Laurence is flawed.

If you met Spiegel through a friend at a bar, you would fucking hate him and you know it.

You'd pity Laurence

I am completely open minded on the matter. My only point of reference is listening to the show, and I don't put the Score on anymore. When I used to listen, he seemed fine. I guess I'll flip a coin to decide.....

Not sure why you think Fitzgerald's doesn't host rock and roll, nor do I get the old people in chairs reference. I've been to a number of rock shows there and everyone was standing throughout. Reasonable prices & a decent beer selection as well.

I think Tributosaurus is a cool and original idea. I have always wanted to go to a show but never found the time. They do take it a little too seriously though. What other cover band guys would ever miss work because of a show?

I think Spiegal can come off as a bit dismissive. I don't think he is he just isn't great in a big group dynamic.

Spiegs pulling out of "hit & run" to spend more time with his son.
Sounds like he got a bump in pay to me for the Mac show.

#1 piece of evidence that sports radio is his "part time" job between gigs.
