I appreciate the contributions of Grant and Rodman, but calling them All-Star caliber players when neither one actually made an All-Star game with Jordan seems wrong.

Grant got hosed his last year here.

And Rodman was great here. I don't know how you could argue otherwise

Both were as good as Bosh over a season

All star starter means little. Yao Ming would still be starting if he was on the ballot. There is a good chance Derirck Rose would of been selected this year to.

Deron Williams was third in guard balloting and Ray Allen was fifth.

If what you say is true it still doesn't change the point I am making. Lebron is supposedly playing historically great. People are ignoring the fact that he is doing it with two elite players(10+ all star games for each soon enough).

That's the problem with him going to Miami. There should always be questions about whether or not he's simply doing this because he is surrounded by two likely future hall of famers.

It doesn't mean little. Of course it's not perfect but it actually is quite indicative of how good you were. Are you doubting Rose as an All-Star if he's healthy? Yao Ming was really good too. He probably was undeserving for his last one, but that's because he only played in 5 games.

Neither of those players were on the All-Star team.

You will find out soon, in the near future Wade will suck n lebron will have to do it with bosh..who is just a Guy...you don't think that team stays the same it improves with boozer? Or Josh Smith? It a dozen other forwards?

I think bron is going back to Cleveland, then that will be a true test...IMO James has been the best player in the NBA for 6-7 years now...when it is all said n done he will. Be goat or a close second to Jordan...all star games mean nothing, like the pro bowl.

Chris Bosh is on pace to make 10+ All-Star games. That puts him in some pretty elite company. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NBA_All-Stars. Everyone acts like Bosh is just a guy. If so, why has he been considered on of the best at his position for about a decade?

Go look at my list of people with 10+ All-Star games. It's pretty much the list of the greatest players ever. Wade and Bosh will be joining that list soon unless one retires.

Correct but they were extremely close. Just like Jeremy Linn barely lost out on a starting spot. It is a popularity contest. As long as Wade is playing in Miami he will be an All-Star starter no matter how bad he gets.

How bad he gets? He's going for over 20 points a game as the second scoring option on the team.

This is the kind of stuff I'm talking about. It seems like people act like Wade isn't any good any more simply because he's not the best player on the team.

I'm not saying that there aren't undeserved All-Star appearances. I'm saying that Wade and Bosh aren't undeserving since they have made so many. This isn't BJ Armstrong going once.

And now he is no Zack Randolph or love.
He is a boozer ...Josh Smith type,Elton brand...good,but no super star...

He's likely a hall of famer.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. He's not Boozer or Josh Smith. I agree that KG, Duncan, and Dirk are better, but he's likely on the next level down of all time players. He's better than Zack Randolph.

I bet you never thought that until he started to play with lebron.
I would bet any GM in the league would take Zr over CB.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: once you strip away all the "Cubby stuff," what you have left is a historically terrible franchise. Likely the worst franchise in human history.

So, yeah, good luck with all that.

Oh, and since an NBA discussion seems to have broken out, I have to say that BRick is right about Wade and Bosh. Wade is a top 10, maybe top 5 player in the league right now. He's actually having a terrific season, and he's a lock HOFer. Chris Bosh is also having a really nice season. His career PER is 20.9. He's elite by any measure you care to name.

Edit: and, though Wade's having a terrific season this year, he was even better last year.

Because that position is currently so weak by historical standards, it's pitiful. There are people who actually think Dwight Howard is great.

I look at Wade and do not currently see an All-Star player. Lebron is actually making him better than he really is. And Bosh was a big fish in a small pond in Toronto...I would take Randolph over him in a heartbeat.

Why is everyone assuming the Heat will win this year, anyway?

This is yet another example of what I am talking about. For some reason people forget that both Bosh and Wade were elite before Lebron got there, and continue to put up outstanding numbers if you factor in the expected declines in pure numbers by playing on a team with two future hall of famers.

Let me point out that Randolph has been traded a handful of times for a bunch of garbage.

He's still one of the best at his position which is why acting like he is just a guy and equal to Boozer is wrong.

we'll agree to disagree then. If they can't win the Finals again it's a moot point.

Couldn't you have said the same thing about Jordan?
No. It looks like he never played on a team with more than Scottie being an All-Star. Grant and Armstrong were All-Stars in 93-94.

I think you're really saying that you'd prefer that James stayed with Cleveland and lead that team to a championship instead of forming an all-star team elsewhere. I agree that it feels like he took an easier path, but championship level team require 2-3 all-star caliaber players.

Even though the Cubs lost 100+ games they still ranked 10th in overall attendance. Sure, it's inflated but that's a nice crutch.

I get a kick out of Cubs fans clamoring for increased revenue streams so the Cubs can be a payroll powerhouse. Theo and Jed are probably in the bottom 5 of GM's who'd I hand a blank check to.

This season, he is averaging 21.0 PPG, 4.9 RPG and 4.8 APG, shooting over 50% from the floor. That's elite. His scoring is down over his career, but that's the result of playing with 2 other all-stars, not to mention a host of shooters, but his overall shooting percentage is up.

He didn't have to stay in Cleveland. Miami was by far the easiest route to a championship. That is why it was so shocking they didn't win it in year 1.

Before he ever signed, I said that he wouldn't choose Miami because of that. I was wrong.

You quote stats. I'm telling you he doesn't look like an elite player anymore. Despite having Bosh and Wade, if Lebron goes down the Heat wouldn't make it out of the Eastern conference.
