Yeah but LeBron is really big and really strong and really fast. Could Karl Marlone put his noots on MJ's forehead? I don't think so.

Boilermaker, not only did LeBron & MJ play different positions, but I've also heard Magic Johnson's name in comparisons to LeBron, too.

Yeah, but they didn't really focus on calling it until around 2004. I think it changed at that time as well to be more restrictive.

Wow Bernstein's continued desire to mock and ridicule the average Chicago sports fan (aka "meatball") continues in the form of his unwillingness to say that the Dirty MotherNucker who assaulted Our Marian Hossa did so intentionally. It's almost like he purposely tries to eschew the popular contemporary view/issue/talking-point in an attempt to come off as more "worldly" or balanced or SOMETHING with the desire ultimately being the continuation of his passive/aggressive disdain for the dumb Chicago meatball sports fan (defined as anyone who doesn't embrace his "new age" views) who he sees it as his responsibility to gentrify.

Terry has the "uh huh I agree" viewpoint cuz he's no dummy, he just rolls along with the FOTS crusades cuz he wants the least amount of ReSistance of possible en route to his hefty hefty cinch sak checks (and god bless him) although I can't tell if LE SO EDGY xDDDDDDDDD Amattacola is taking up the LE SO EDGY xDDDDDDDD (</reddit>) contrarian viewpoint cuz he actually believes it ur if he s actually in lockstep with Bernstein and sarcastically trying to make people with the anti-BurnSTINE view look like idiots.

Either way, Mattie is REVVED UP AND READY TO ROCK AND ROLL thanks to his daily dose of FIVE HOUR ENERGY, the PERFECT product with the PERFECT timeframe (5hrs) for a part-time shift from 1-6. Holy shit it's so perfect that part time Amattacola pitches 5hr NRG as much as FULL TIME SPEAGOL pitches anything that s got a sawbuck for him.

BTW this HURR DURR IDIOTS ARE GONNA CALL US stuff had me PTFB to CJH where I'm giving the ReVolution a chance today. I'm gonna paint my grandna's rental unit today, BTW.

He only selects the statistics he prefers to support his given argument at the time. Butkus is a much more physically impressive specimen than Ray Lewis, albeit a more pale one. But you don't har bernstein screaming, "He was 6'3", 250 and faster than most running backs!" the same way he waxes poetic about LeBron being 6 foot 8 and full of muscles.

I wouldn't mind seeing on my imaginary tv a 7 games series where LeBron and the Mailman went at it.

Are we really considering the late-'90s period of the NBA a different era than now? I understand the style of play has changed some but a different era, to me, is a completely different brand of player and game.

I'd probably give you the '80s but 1997?

The hand checking rule alone makes it a different era in my opinion.

That was, what, 2004? I don't consider 2003 a different era. I agree it has impacted the style of play but that seems more like an evolution of rule changes that continued for a number of years prior to that. There was a hand-check rule before that - it just wasn't emphasized like it was at that point.

IMO, a true difference from one era to the next would mean there are very few people from that era that could compete in this new era. I don't think a change in the hand-check rule would create an entirely different era.

But, if you think so, I don't care enough to argue it. You win.

I dont care either.

I just remember Derek Harper sticking to MJ like glue and he would foul out after 6 possessions with today's rules.

I just wonder how much Jordan would score

What the Canucks' Jannik Hansen did to the Blackhawks' Marian Hossa wasn't nearly as vicious as what the Coyotes' Raffi Torres did in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs last spring. I'm not so sure he's going to get suspended for that hit, especially when you consider Hansen isn't nearly the thug that Torres is. It's a bummer than Hossa is hurt again and probably won't play Friday vs. the SHARKs (no relation) for what the NHL would call an "upper body injury".

Also, the officials didn't penalize Torres following his hit during the Playoffs, but because of his reputation, the NHL suspended Torres for much of Phoenix's playoff run and the start of this crammed NHL season, too.

Whoa, is that AJ? If so, what happened to her bolt-ons/+2s? I thought implants were a requirement for employment in the E, THAT IS unless creative decided to let her lose the jelly bags in order to give her more of a "real girl" look for her "accessible" nerd grrl gimmick, with "accessible" perhaps being the nicest euphemism possible to describe her proclivity to make our with the entire roster on camera.

I care less than you do.

Jordan would score 836 points a game. But, it is still the same era.

The way that Lebron James manufactured the Miami situation will tarnish him in my eyes. Jordan built the Bulls. Lebron James did it the AAU way. He also fails to take the defensive cover which is something Jordan never did. If you watched the playoffs last year Battier Checked Carmelo Anthony and during the finals James checked Kendrid Perkins not Durant yet you always hear about this great defense that he has. he is the best player in the league today but the superlatives heaped on him by Bernstein would lead you to believe that every dissenting opinion renders one an idiot. Kobe alwaytakes the cover also that is how you determine whose best particularly when the players play the same position. Whenever Lebron has failed Bernstein makes excuses excuses that he would never except from so called meatball fans that present opposite opinions.

And who the fuck are you, dipshit? I think only spmack and my coach Vinny date as far back as I do, with spmack signing up the same day that I did. So if you REALLY wanna go out on the mult crusade, why not claim that I'm a creation of master thespian spmack, who has even gone as far as to hire some random schlub to show up @ the bulls game last year pretending to be me. Hell, he got double duty cuz he hired the actor to portray sini back @ the Cleo's meet up back in Dec 2010. Rather brilliant, right?

anyways, since you've decided to have a hard on for me since I wasn't serious enough during the Hawks' late 3rd period collapse last night (as I was directed to go jerk off to Internet porn and leave the Hawks thread/discussion to the grown ups who take pride in their socially antisocial tribalism related circlejerking) I"m going to devote some time to looking up the legendary posting legacy of one impeccably named "denisdman" and see if you are truly "d man" as your clever name implies. I'll be sure to post from one of my main accounts, prolly JORR (altho being accused of being a JORR mult is actually an honor to be honest =)

ITT: sinoclaypisse gets INCREDIBLY MAD AND BUTTHURT and looks to have a clean sweep of 2012 feud of the year with dman, dmyth, dlegend that is denied man, HAHAHA autocorrect has my back as that's what my phone changes "denisdman" to by default.

Pretty much. The show's prime directive is to push the anti-populist perspective as stridently and self-righteously as possible, even when the populist perspective is demonstrably correct.

I find it funny how every answer to whether the Bulls have a chance to win a title in the future is basically now "HEY IDIOT, KEVIN DURANT/LEBRON JAMES ARE STILL ALIVE. DID THEY DIE? ARE THEY DEAD?".

I think what the guys forget to realize is that much like when Derrick Rose went down in Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs last spring, should LeBron James, Kevin Durant and other guys get injured themselves, it'll change the playing field as well come playoff time.

Surprisingly, he isn't promoting the protection of Jerry's checkbook by suggesting the Bulls dump Rose and operate with the minimum payroll until Durant and James both retire. The United Center. will. be. full. every. night. anyway. No point in wasting money to be in basketball hell.
