This had me a little worried.

Why?

Because these records are being set in a lockout shortened season.

#Asterik

I don't care about that as much as the fact that we could be without Hossa for a very long time. None of this matters if he's out.

All i've heard through the media the last day or two is that Hossa isnt expected to miss a lot of time, although I know he has a history of concussions. Supposedly there will be an update today.

Is it really over if Hossa misses an extended period of time? Are we really not deep enough to survive the loss of him and at least have a chance?

Tim Sassone said Hossa, Seabrook, and Crawford were on the ice today. However, Emery wasn't, and Sassone didn't know why. Yet anyway.

So much ado about nothing with the hit on Hossa?

Who knows. His Dad said he had a concussion, but him on the ice today speaks otherwise. I wish they would keep him out a few games at least...big picture

So, if Hossa's dad is to be trusted, it sounds like a minor concussion and it's possible he could play tomorrow.

Slovak Newspaper: Hossa's Dad says Marian has a concussion

Unless there's a translation issue?

The way he limped off the ice, I actually thought he hurt a knee or ankle. Others in the office thought it was more of a concussion stagger movement. But the NHL is the worst on giving out injury information. Crow had an upper body injury believed to be a concussion. It's all quite silly and a sad commentary on the state of the league because they worry about letting the goons know where the injury is.

Is Hossa the softest player in NHL history? Why can't this guy take a hit in a sport where people hit you?

Is Coach Q/Blackhawks mgmt smart enough to look big picture? Or are they the type to stupidly try to push him to play to try to keep our point streak going?

Historically, he want extremely durable. Looking at NHL game states, he played in regular season 78+ games per year from 1999/2000-2006/2007.

Probably. Wouldn't be surprised if they used google translate or something. All those translation sites are bad.

By the way. If they knew for sure Hossa has a minor concussion then there is no way he'd be on the ice for practice today let alone any possibility of him playing tomorrow. That's not how concussions work in this league anymore since Crosby.

I don't see other Hawks players missing time when they take a hit.

I didn't take it as trolling. From an outsider's point of view, it does seem like a legitimate concern/criticism of Hossa.

Jesus Tapdancing Christ, Marian Hossa wasted almost three seasons of his prime on the Atlanta Thrashers.

Oh, and Hossa as the softest player in NHL history?

Why can't D Rose land on two feet without having his knee explode in a sport that requires you to land on two feet? What a pussy.

It's all good. It's clearly becoming a legit question with his head now. He's had a pretty healthy career otherwise.

I was just giving the business to Douchebag. Please note that I am Pro-DRose and a fan of the Chicago Bulls.

Not the player I'd go with:

"Look, you fools. Wayne Gretzky and Rod Brind'Amour are different people. They can both be legends. One was the greatest player ever who transcended the game with his personal artistry. The other was an idealized human specimen who liked to have friends."

My two cents: the concussion thing is bothersome, especially after the Torres cheap shot in the playoffs. This is another case of a cheap shot from behind. Other than that, Hossa has been durable...hell, he played the 2010 playoffs on half a knee and a fucked up shoulder, and he was like a bulldozer on the ice.

Also, a fair comparison to this type of concussion issue in hockey is:
