Same for me. I was and am intimidated by alcohol. My father and brother both had major issues with drinking and caused themselves and our family a lot of problems. I will occasionally have a beer, but that is about it. Too afraid it will take over my life as well.

I applaud you for recognizing this and not succumbing to social pressure. When I was younger, there were times when I was with certain crowds and I'd drink excessively, knowing that it wasn't what I wanted to do, but also knowing that I didn't want to be clowned for being a "lame". I don't miss being a kid.
