I couldn't remember if we already had a thread about this show. Love it.

Specifically for this episode, I had issues with the fake ID plant. I used to bounce on occasion, and I probably wouldn't have denied that ID.

One of the few things Spike TV does well. Great nightcap on a Sunday.

Edit: I was talking about the picture. I didn't realize it didn't have a back to it.

Watching it now instead of the Oscars. I don't have high hopes for these guys really.

Car lot rescue is terrible. Trying to piggy back off of the awesomeness that is Bar Rescue is just wrong.

People like to go to bars.

People hate used car dealers.

Love this show, too.

There's a show on Food Network that's a total ripoff called "Restaurant Stakeout." I watched a couple of episodes and thought it felt staged. So I googled the name of one of the restaurants, and sure enough, the local paper did interviews with the staff and some of the "drama" was completely manufactured.

My BS detector doesn't go off for Bar Rescue. Seems legit.

I have no desire to ever drink at a Jon Taffer bar. He turns everything into a fucking Bennigan's. This guy named a bar "Corporate" for God's sake! Yeah, that's exactly what I want to do after working an eight hour shift- go to a bar named Corporate. Fuck Jon Taffer.

I think this episode is IMU approved?

This show is all kinds of awesome. How some of these people can even get loans in the first place to open a bar is beyond me. Like that asshole in Austin with the roaches. And how is the IRS not alerted to his non paying of employees after that episode??

I loved that episode. In his defense, he was aiming more for the lunch crowd and maybe the "one drink after work" crowd, from the heavily corporate area they were in. Would you have regularly frequented that pirate bar?
I agree that he does gentrify the bars he "rescues," but he is only interested in making the bars make money.

Yeah, and I guess the bars he goes to are in trouble. Although I get the feeling some guys just want a free makeover. But if a dive bar was doing great, I suppose he wouldn't be there. I'll take Rossi's over Rockit every time. At least Taffer doesn't use counters on the bottles. He has his experts teach the bartenders to free pour.

Damn, those pirate people were something, weren't they? But hey, if you'd rather be a broke pirate than a rich bar operator, don't call Jon Taffer.
