So Edmonton has another terrible showing 5v5. Don't really remember any sustainable offensive zone play. As much as their defense sucks they need to figure out 5v5 scoring too.

I don't see an issue with the NHL playoffs. Sure, last year's playoffs were a return to clutch & grab play and Montreal had that one run of shot block and pray for a PP goal. But, since the lockout, the majority of Cup participants were pretty puck possession teams.

Too lazy this morning to start a new thread, plus DST has thrown me off too much to care...so: bump.

Hawks are reeling from their first regulation loss. :P I say Sharp's absence was the difference. :drunken:

Edmonton is playing thier 8th of a nine-game road trip that has been an unmitigated disaster - only one win, plus two back-to-back shutout losses to Detroit and Nashville. Edmonton is in horrendous shape, with no fewer than seven players including Khabibulin out. The Hawks are without Sharp and probably Montador. Meh.

It all points to the Blackhawks laying a whoopin' on the Oils - [crosscheck]which, of course, means that the Hawks will lose 5-3[/crosscheck].
