I wouldn't expect someone who thinks the Bible is just a set of stories, to believe it as His spoken word for all to follow.

But having said that, it doesn't mean that one can not see the obvious problem with each person claiming to be or have their "own", or "my" God. And just a cursory look at history will expose what a problem that has been across all of recorded history.

It seems like some people think that everything that happens is because God wants it to happen and that he supports all the evil in the world. Nothing could be further from the truth. The word "good" comes from the word "God" and the word "evil" comes from the word "devil."

But who is the devil? The devil is a fallen angel who was kicked out of heaven with 1/3 of the angels who became demons. He is a spirit and not a physical being. Satan refers to the larger forces of demons that work in the lives of people. Demons do not typically possess people, but they do encourage them to commit evil through temptation.

Jesus called the devil "the Father of Lies" and a liar from the beginning. He says that he comes to steal, kill and destroy.

There are a lot of lies that devil has come up with over the years. Here's a sample:


There is no God. Only uneducated people believe that. Really they should keep their religion to themselves. Religion is really at the center of all the world's problems. It would be so much easier if people could accept everyone. We're all children of God, right?

All religions are the same. They all worship the same God and they all go to heaven. I mean a loving God wouldn't send anyone to hell. No one goes to hell except really bad people like Hitler, John Wayne Gacy and the terrorists that hijacked those planes.

You are your own God. You have a right to live how you want to live. There's no such thing as absolute truth. They have their truth and you have yours. Wouldn't the world be better if everyone acknowledge that each person's truth is equally valid?

There's nothing wrong with a little porno every now and then. You're not an addict; you can stop anytime you want. You just do it on the weekends or late at night. You know you work a lot and your wife doesn't appreciate you. You didn't say anything about porn in your wedding vows. It's not exploitation of women because it's voluntary. They are paid for their services and they're just using the body God gave them. In fact pornography is better because it keeps men from cheating in real life.

Everyone should have a right to an abortion. It's the 21st century. We need population control. A lady can't be expected to give birth if the condom broke or she missed her pill. It's not a baby. It's a fetus. It's like a seed in the ground. Your apple seed in the dirt is not an apple tree. There's a big difference. Fetuses don't feel anything. It's quick and easy and she won't think about later in life. And she'll be able to achieve her work goals. Really it's a shame there aren't more abortions. I can think of some criminals that really shouldn't have been born to single moms.

There's nothing wrong with being gay. It's totally natural. What's wrong is the religious people that oppress these people. Gay marriage is a civil right. You should be able to love who you want to love. It's not a disorder and those people who say they were gay weren't gay. They were just experimenting. Some gay men are married to women. There's nothing wrong if a man wants to leave his wife and kids for his gay partner. Really people should be allowed to do what they want to do when they want to do it and with whom they want to do it as long as it's consensual. Doesn't God want you to be happy. Follow your heart. Do whatever feels right.

You know no one loves you or cares about you. You would be better off dead. Your family won't appreciate you until you're gone. It's okay to take your life. It is your life after all. They'll be sorry that they didn't treat you right.

You know it's not lying if it's lying about sex. It's your own personal life. Bill Clinton shouldn't have had to answer questions like that. We all would have lied. Oral sex is not real sex. It doesn't count if you don't go all the way.


It's like there is a never ending supply of lies that the devil tells people and even he has ones that are more specifically directed at Christians too.


You know you don't really have to forgive that person. God doesn't expect you to forgive them unless they apologize to you. When they earn their forgiveness you can forgive them. Until then you have a right to be bitter.

God is angry with you because of what you did last week. He's going to hold this against you forever. There is really no sense trying to pretend like there is any hope for you.

You're always going to be like this. People don't change. The other people are just pretending. It's all an act.

Your non-church friends are so non-judgmental. They accept everyone for who they are. You don't need to go to church to be a Christian. You're fine just the way you are.



Unfortunately, these sometimes come from other people and other times enter your mind as though they were your own thought. The truth is that none of them are true and the lies that people believe keep them from being set free.

To answer the question of why Im skeptical about gay people being no longer gay....just history.

So many have hid the fact that their gay, even from themselves, only to give in later.

I think they were always gay.

But I do not think its a disease.

Mini Ditka's faith is as impressive as the content of that faith is scary.
