Some time ago Panther or Mr. Reason extolled the virtues of doubling up paper filters when brewing drip coffee. Something about trapping more of the oils or less of the oils, I don't really remember. I tried this on their advice and my coffee drinking experience improved vastly. I have no doubt that this improvement in my life has had a positive impact on my disposition and overall worldview, also believe that I have imparted this positivity towards the people I interact with daily, and it stands to reason that it would ripple onward from there. So, in a way, thanks to Panther or Mr. Reason somebody probably didn't drive off a cliff or poison their boss or something. And for that, we all owe Panther or Mr. Reason a huge debt of gratitude.

I've regressed.

I don't think it has. It's been responsible for many hours or time spent debating subjects from Baseball to gun laws. Those hours certainly could have been spent more productively. but then again, I never expected that the time spent on this site would be looked upon as time well invested. So perhaps I should look on it as time well wasted.

Ive been using a smaller pot with a reusable filter. But Im getting a new one and going back to paper filters.

Let me correct my original statement. The board itself hasn't made me better, but some of the friendships I've forged as a result of the board have.

I never would have met Doug and got to practice and play with pA. Never would have met Kamps or the Crew. Never would have hung out with Darko or FavreFan or Chris in Joliet or played hoops with the other guys. So yes, that's definitely made my life better.

But with the good, there's also a fair share of not-so-good. I can safely say that there are some people here that it frankly makes me uncomfortable to know think the thoughts they do.
