The Other Guys is one of the most underrated comedies of all time and needs to be watched about three times to fully appreciate it...

This.

I've soured on Ferrell just because he basically played the same characters in movies for nearly 10 years straight. So when I sat down to watch The Other Guys, I was expecting Talladegga Nights Part 6. But the movie was probably the funniest thing I have seen i nearly a decade. Great cast, great dialogue, great everything.

The comedy seemed fresh in that movie. There were things going on in there that were original.

I think Elf is one of his funniest movies. I end up watching it at some point every Christmastime and I still laugh out loud at several parts.

He's probably overrated, but still pretty damn funny.

A) they're funny, and B) they don't involve bike racing.

they are both about as funny as your tired bike racing references.

I think Seth Rogen has more funny movies than Will Ferrell does the past 15 years.
I like Rogen too but isn't most of his best work as supporting characters? I know Ferrell has done a few of them too but besides Knocked Up and Pineapple Express what else is there?

"observe and report", which i found dark and hilarious.

you guys are kind of convincing me to give "the other guys" a try. i found out about "grandma's boy" through this site and was very pleasantly surprised.

KI has a point about the oversaturation. and honestly, i think judd apatow has been oversaturated. look at all the comedies coming out this year. they all star the same people doing the same roles in formulaic pictures. it was fresh back in 2004-2007 but now it's gotten extremely stale.

there needs to be a new crop of comic actors out there to come to the big screen.
