Another recent addition in the division has gone without mention.....Nick Swisher (dirty30) has signed with the Indians after about a month of discussions between the parties. Swisher will have a lot of opportunities to bite the hand that once fed him.

De Aza is a horrendous centerfielder. They used DeWayne Wise as a late inning replacement for him. It is unheard of to use a defensive replacement for your centerfielder. Your centerfielder is supposed to be the 2nd best defender on the field but that dumb son of a bitch is replaced by a 35 yr old 4A (yes Theo they exist) journeyman when defense matters the most.

The Sox can not go into next season with De Aza as the everyday centerfielder. It's not fair to the pitching staff to get out after out that drops in front of an awful centerfielder for hit after hit.

Well, Rios was supposed to be the CF, when they took on his contract via a waiver claim. But the Sox quickly discovered that he wasn't really adept at the position and better suited to a corner spot. Thats why Wise was often in CF when Rios was initially obtained. They have no real great option for the position, but DeAza is the best choice from amongst the current options.
