Chris Paul isn't winning a title anytime soon either.

Why does Rose have to leave? Why can't someone join him here?

Surely you couldn't possibly think the Bulls are as close to winning a title as the Clippers are. The Clippers are amongst the best teams in the West and could get to the Finals this year.

And why do you think anyone would join Derrick Rose in Chicago? Two things have been clear over the years, especially with the Gar/Pax regime:

1. Free agents don't want to play in Chicago.
2. The Bulls are not willing to deal their "core" players in a trade.

Neither is winning a title unless Durant and Lebron both tear Acls.

One of the problems Rose faces is his latest contract includes a salary bump of an additional 5% as indicated below. I think the collective bargaining situation screwed Mr. Rose and the Bulls. He is almost $3 million per year richer (if my math is correct), but the Bulls are in a tougher situation to pay other players. I am not saying he didn't earn it, but the rule ultimately screws his "goal" of winning a championship. I thought that was a bad situation for the team at the time and still think it hurts them.

Rose will be making 30 percent of the Bulls' salary cap, thanks to a new rule in the collective bargaining agreement dubbed the "Derrick Rose Rule."

The rule allows a player finishing his rookie contract to make 30 percent of a team's salary cap -- up from 25 percent -- if he's twice been voted an All-Star starter, twice been voted All-NBA or won an MVP award.

I see what you're saying, but you just never know.

Trust me, I did say that. I felt like Dirk was a fool for staying in Dallas. Obviously he made the right choice in hindsight, but you can see why I would feel that way.

That is true as well. Don't the Clippers have some decisions looming? Not just Chris Paul, but Blake Griffin, too.

I never guaranteed a title for Paul. But his team is clearly closer to a championship and is at least in the conversation.

The real question is what does the team do with Walt William's Neck's guy Vinny.

Shouldn't Bulls fans just want Rose to sit have the Bulls tank and get in the lottery and hope they get a top notch shooting guard?

Yep.

Especially after Garnett, Allen, LeBron, and Bosh all got title that way.

I wouldnt say "free agents dont want to come to Chicago" though

Who have they missed on other than LeBron?

welp, if you tire of listening to bernstein cheer on the end of plate collisions in baseball, you can always check out exciting SPRING TRAINING BASEBALL, where today's los angeles angels of anaheim lineup looks like something off of one of those random city teams in super/bases loaded.

I don't believe that. Boston took Miami to 7 games last year. OKC has also proven to be beatable. It isn't as impossible as people are making it out to be. I think San Antonio could beat both Miami and OKC in a 7-game series. People need to stop acting like Lebron has this shit sewn up for years and years to come. Yes, they're the best team in the league but you don't play the games on paper.

Again, my point is that the Bulls were in the championship conversation two years ago. They no longer are in that conversation right now, with or without Derrick Rose.

Pittmike, the Bulls aren't bad enough to get in the NBA Draft Lottery. I think there might be a big trade in the offseason and I can picture either Luol Deng or Joakim Noah getting dealt in an effort to get the Bulls under that luxury tax that Uncle Jerry's now paying for the first time in franchise history.

Yep, good catch Sini.

I remember one of my favorite teams had players like Oko, Paste, Ryder etc.

They are going to end up getting another lottery pick for Tyrus in a year or two. That is going to be the key to EVERYTHING. Because there is no way the Bobcats won't be shitty.

Good call. It looks exactly like that. If only Trout was replaced with "Fish"

while terry prattles on telling me what i, as a baseball fan, should think about getting rid of collisions at home plate, i can't get the super bases loaded in-game music out of my head.

jesus christ, bernstein used to be a good proper sports talk host and now he's just a giant fucking corporate troll spending 5hrs a day trying to piss off people enough to tweet/text/call-up hate his way so he can get all outraged and yell at them with EXTREME VOCAL INFLECTION so tanny/whoever can then turn around and cut them up and use them for intros/bumpers/drops all TERRY BOERS ("uh I think, what I'm trying to say, uh, it's crystal clear, uhh, I mean, if you're a fan of baseball, uh I mean a true fan of real baseball, I'm saying you'll have no problem with this") AND DAN BERNSTEIN ("YOU'RE A GODDAMN IDIOT YOU SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO REPRODUCE WHY DO YOU CALL HERE?!?!") ON 670 THE SCORE!!!!

and right as i finish this, i've got dan all dismissively "DON'T START... DON'T START..... DON'T START WITH THAT STUFF" --- seriously, the whole show is designed to present talking points aka narrative and then troll/bait anyone dumb enough to respond into getting browbeaten into the company line. oh how the mighty have fallen.... this used to be my favorite program on all of radio.

It is so very sad to see a once great radio show hit new lows every show.

How far they have fallen....

oh yeah, that's probably the mindset going on around there. these days it's starting to be too much EITHER YOU'RE IN LOCKSTEP WITH US OR YOU'RE A GODDAMN MOUTHBREATHING SHIRTLESS-DRIVING PANTLESS-CRETIN MEATBALL IDIOT. seriously, it's just way too much THIS IS OUR OPINION AND YOU'RE A GODDAMN IDIOT FOR DISAGREEING WITH IT.

the disconnect with the "meatball" sports fan used to come naturally, but now, like i said, they're str8up baiting people to call up and disagree because that's pretty much their show thing. i don't think it helps that they've got SUPER-EDGY(TM) amattacola behind the scenes. in jest, i tweeted @ him that I thought the HOF was stupid and he responded just to let me know how much he doesn't care about my opinion. 8)

Just catching up on this thread. The gif reminds me of that scene in Mall Rats where Silent Bob crashes through the wall on Joey Lauren Adams.
