People watch because a character behaves in an irrational, completely idiotic manner. They want to see what the moron will do next. Will she figure it out? Will she keep being a complete dope?

It's the same deal with Skyler from Breaking Bad. She annoys the shit out of everyone. But you keep watching. It's part of life. Can't kill off every character that isn't "tough" or a "bad ass"...

Skyler is frustrating but her actions/thoughts are believable. Andrea's actions make zero sense. Also, the show has painted Andrea as "tough" and "bad ass" and she still sucks.

Exactly.

Nobody is watching bb because of skylars dumb ass.

Michone said it perfect, Andrea chose a warm bed over a friend...a friend who kept her stupid ass alive all winter.

Are you not aware that shows like this need conflict? Would you rather that everyone got their shit together and got on the same page and lived happily ever after?

...fuckin' Disney movie or something.

Andrea is part of the conflict that is happening now. She won't be killed off because she isn't a black male on this show...

I like Gus or Hector or Hector's nephews or even Mike vs Walt...not his old lady.

Andrea brings nothing but a naive bitch who shot Darrell ...

She is the "connection" between the two the groups, that much is obvious, it's just that she is so poorly written and so fucking oblivious to everything that I find myself wincing in horror every time she is on the screen.

I kind of get what the writers are going for, but those same writers fucked up bad with Andrea. Real bad.

If the groups end up fighting and Andrea all of a sudden has a change of heart or an injection of a low level of intelligence and kills the Governor or saves the day or whatever....I'm gonna puke.

Man, some of you complain about everything. You'd probably have an issue if Jessica Alba cameod in the next episode and shot her cooter everywhere.

Yes, how dare we discuss The Walking Dead and complain about stuff related to the The Walking Dead in a thread about the The Walking Dead!

I actually enjoyed this episode the most since it came back on the air even though we only
saw a handful of characters. Michonne actually had some dialogue and came off as having
somewhat of a heart.

I liked it just for the treatment of Michonne's character.

And for the return of Sol.

Probably the main cast does.

Maybe not for the recurring cast.

Really really enjoyed last night's episode. It didn't really progress anything but I still enjoyed it nonetheless.

It succeeded in trying to show Michonne as human.

She got closer to the relationship she has with Rick in the books.

No. They absolutely make sense. Woodbury is a dream for someone living in that world.

She is making decisions to overlook things in order to ensure her survival. She could have killed the Gov. but didn't. Why? She's not sure if it would fuck everything up.

It's frustrating to us becasue we get to see every angle of everyones life on the show. She's currently making poor decisions. Will she always? Probably not. But it happens. People do dumb things when they are too trusting or are given information in small doses after being fed lies for a long time...

I think most of the people living in that compound are starting to realize the Governor is pretty much off his rocker at this point. I understand why she didn't kill him then in terms of needing conflict for the show but if I'm suspending my disbelief that move makes no sense considering what Andrea knows about the guy and what he did to her former companions.

Best episode in a long time. Reminded me of Season 1. I dug the hitchhiker thing. Shows how far Rick has come...

Agree.

They drive past his corpse, he doesn't even flinch and then they throw it in reverse and pick up his gear.

Nice touch.

Another decent episode but I just can't shake the difference in pacing between part 1 and this one. Everything in part 2 is just sooo slow.

I thought it was the 2nd best episode of the second half. The early segments with the henchmen talking with each other were really strong but the second half of the show dragged a bit.

Agreed. Really drove the point home how buttfucking crazy and egotistical those in charge are compared to plebes who are just trying to make a buck and survive the drudgery of a zombie apocalypse.

I understand setting up drama and shows but there are 3 episodes left this season and I can't really say
all that much has happened. I hope they move things along starting next week.

I didnt like the episode overall. I agree with you that the best part was the henchmen talking to eachother. It reminded me of the blue and grey soldiers having coffee together in Gods and Generals. But I'm pretty sure they wanted the strong part of the episode to be the alpha male contest inside, and I found that part to be very lacking. I pretty much agree with T-Bone that they are definitely overdramatizing it and the result is a stale story arch where some actual action and forward development are much needed at this point.

I think a couple weeks ago you said you heard that pretty much these are the exact reasons that that Mazarra guy was let go. If thats true, it's certainly understandable.

I understand what you're saying but if you look back at this season you'll see so much has happened.

1)Lori dying
2)Michone going to the prison
3)The Governor (all things)
4)Merle coming back to the group
5)Judith being born
6)Herschel losing his leg
7)Woodbury in general

Pretty much every one of those things happened in the first half of this season. Nothing has really happened since the break. The best episode of this half really had nothing to do with the Woodbury/Prison storyline.

Also, I was thinking about it last night. How did the Governor know about the weapons they got from Morgan? SPOILER-TYPE SPECULATION BELOW -

I wonder if the Gov has been following Rick and if Morgan might take the place of Tyreese in one of the more memorable sequences of the comic-book.

Yea, so the writers have totally messed her character up. So she knows Woodbury sucks and the Governor is a psycho and still decides to return after the meeting. She needed to die 2 seasons ago.

I feel the same way. Even for a total Andrea apologist like shakes though, next week is it. Either she is going back to Woodbury to secretly kill the Governor, or she needs to be killed off or something. She now knows the Governor sexually assaulted Maggie, and she didn't even seem too phased by it. She's easily been the worst character over the life of the series.

I thought about this after I posted my original thoughts on the subject. The first half of the season seems like it
was so long ago I find it hard to even lump that in with this second portion of season 3. You are correct that a lot
did happen in the first installment, I have just been really disappointed since coming back from the break.

Doc, I was also curious what the Governor was referencing when he knew they were all restocked with guns.
Sometimes they get into some of the overanalysis in the Talking Dead portion of the show and it may have been
mentioned there but I didn't watch.

Maybe, but I don't think the audience would have as strong of an emotional attatchement to Morgan as they would, say Andrea or Daryl.

On a side note. There may be hope for next season to be great.

The new show runner directed the last episode that basically everyone seemed to dig.

EDIT: By "last episode" I mean the one pryor to the boring one that came on yesterday...

I wasn't really a fan of this episode, and the second half of this season hasn't been much better.

The next three episodes have to be incredible to give me hope for next season.
