I blame Vince for allowing him to keep preforming when it was obvious he had both drug and other problems. He failed multiple tests. He should have been taken off both the road and TV and put in rehab. Not pushed and given the belt.
There is a lot of blame to go around in what happened. I just think it is wrong to blame a sick guy and not the people who enabled him in his sickness.

Hell no, Benoit in the end is the one responsible for his actions. No matter how sick/screwed up he was he could have gone and got help. I have and issue with those who basically treated him like he did not have any problems and kept using him,allowing him to abuse himself and others with out consequence. He had failed multiple drug tests. I think it was around 5 in a 12 month period. His only punishment was a 2 week suspension. When he came back he was put in the top tier and given the belt. His friends ignored stuff going on. He was an emotional wreak if they stories Jericho and others tell are to be believed. If it was that obvious the entire WWE management should be held accountable. I wonder how much hush money they paid to both Benoits kids and Nancys family to keep quiet. They should have dragged Vinces' ass into court. Fracking Congress started to investigate him and Vince had to have been shitting his pants,it would have been a bigger scandal than the steroid investigation. But it just blew over. I am confused when they are all these studies and investigations about CTE in sports and you almost never hear Prowrestling or MMA brought up. Boxing once in awhile ,should be more in the spotlight. Just go over the history of under 50 year old deaths linked to them.

Wrestling isn't brought up because there probably aren't nearly as many concussions these days as there used to be.

A good thing that can be taken away from the Benoit tragedy was that Vince realized that it wasn't necessary for risk concussions in what is basically a performnce.

No chair shots to the head.
No pile drivers
No moves dropping one on his head (except when Miz does it)

I have no problem with changes that were made. It's fake. There is no reason these guys should be getting their brains scrambled the same way football players or boxers do.

People need to get off the fake thing. It is scripted but people do get hurt and not every step is scripted. It is like saying SNL is not real improv because they have a script.
By saying prowrestling is fake then by what has come out about the stuff that went on in UFC and Boxing that those sports are also as if not more so fake than wrestling.
