Not surprised that you were such an inconsiderate asshole then, as your remarks indicate a similar disreguard for others now. I guarantee if I were an investigating officer called on a regular basis to that building, you would have been arrested. It would have nothing to do with any power trip, but preserving the peace so that others living in that building could sleep and enjoy living conditions the likes of which they should reasonably expect to enjoy. Families with small children shouldn't have their children losing sleep because inconsiderate assholes have no reguard for others.

What is your point? You are reiterating everything I just said. We were an apartment full of idiots. The point was that despite the presence of the Lisle police every weekend, nobody got in trouble, just like nothing would happen to Bagels for doing far less.

You are the one that apparently can't read. Do point out where I said "Bagels is gonna go to jail". I gave advice aimed at avoiding such a scenario. You just fabricate bullshit all the time.....and hand out horrible advice.

Right here:

Sure the volume you play your music at, might seem reasonable to you. But to this neighbor it's a problem. Is the risk of the problems this person can bring about, worth letting things escalate? In 6 months you could have a spirited discussion about the subject without the risks you would face now. But do as you will, it's not gonna affect me in any way. I thought my advice was sound. But if you want to prove that you are not gonna back down to some cracker neighbor and insist on standing up to him......who knows, maybe you won't end up getting arrested, having your probation revoked, losing your job (if you have one) and going to jail. But it seems like a foolish risk to me.

Another Epic Fail.....Anyone with reading and reasoning skill past the grade school level, can see that I said that the POSSIBLE consequences might manifest themselves only if he were dumb enough to follow the advice of the galactically stupid, like you and Powerhouse 233, and CONTINUE TO PLAY HIS MUSIC AT WHATEVER LEVEL HE WISHED AND REFUSE TO BACK DOWN OVER THE ISSUE AND FIGHT WITH THE NEIGHBOR OVER IT. As keeping score points out, any interaction with police, even if an arrest is not affected can pose a problem with his probation and it could be revoked. Maybe you should just go quit while you are behind dumbass.

Whether the Lisle police officers responding were just too lazy to do their jobs or you are just making that up (though I can't imagine anyone making something up that makes them look like such an asshole) to support your position that nothing is likely to come out of further confrontations, the advice is as stupid as it gets and should be ignored.

That kinda goes to support my earlier point. When a Police officer shows up to a scene where a complaint is being made against someone who has a criminal history, there is a great liklihood that the officer will make certain judgements about that person and it will influence how he handles the situation. Just as the information offered up here might tend to influence the opinions some might have of Bagels. Is it fair? Maybe not, but it may already have had some influence on opinion.

Only read the first page. Turn down the music. 10:30 might not be late but its late enough to expect quiet. It may not sound like much to you but its not really about you. Someone else said to go outside between the houses to see if you can hear. If you can hear, it is too loud. It isn't an imposition on you to have your music not penetrate the four walls of your house.

I would probably go over to talk to him during the day about it. I'd give him my phone number to call over if it is gettting too loud. That diffuses the situation and lets him know that you are interested in being a good neighbor.

right well on subsequent pages i explained i already tried the "nice" route, he's just not very interested in being nice. and it's not just because of this, from the moment they moved in their were not very friendly, i attempted to make small talk, say hi, wave when i was out w/ my dogs.

and i don't feel it's an imposition at all. he asked me to turn it down and i did. again, it's hard to know you're causing a disturbance when something is pretty subjective. some people think taco bell mild sauce is spicy...without getting any kind of feedback how would I know. i will adjust my behaviors accordingly

It's the episode where Elaine was going to rent the apartment directly above Jerry's, but she couldn't come up $5000 up front.
