Well my work truck is a Ranger so it does suck in the snow but we cancelled all non emergency repairs and installations tomorrow. I was gonna be on a 2 furnace (twinned) install tomorrow with a nice new condenser to install and braze in so not only do I get no damn hours tomorrow I also don't get to play with fire as planned. There's something so nice about acetylene torches.. FUN WITH FIRE!

Office is 3.5 miles from home....GF takes the Metra which is 1 mile away.

We're probably camping in tomorrow. I'm at the south end of the municipality, bordered (obviously) by an unincorporated area and another village. we also have IDOT and County Highways surrounding our egress from our wrought iron fenced-in (yet sadly, gate-less) community, which they choose to plow never.

...again, at the crux of forgotten roadways.

and...AND! our association is run by a bunch of idiots. and yet, I continue to let them be.
anywho...after getting raped by a larger landscape architect company for low tier shitty service,
we (they) decided to hire a ragtag landscape company to plow our subdivision, mow, and maintain our HOA.
and, ultimately, i'm cool with that. give the little guy his biggest contract ever. feed the small business. etc...

so, during stupid snow events, the Village comes through once with the standard "Plow King" plow and does the main roads.
We're on a cul-de-sac with a driveway "tentacle" to the circle...a good 100' from the main road.
Our L.A. "guys" get the Bobcats and John Deere lawnmowers with a team of 15 laborers and go to work.
but, they get here 5 hours after the shit is terrible. I have to drive some serious rural sideways beach buggy shit in 4WD Low just to get home.

The alarm goes off at 5:15. If there is 4" of snow by 6:20 when we leave, we might as well not go anywhere because I won't be able to get to the Metra Station. The past two snow storms have been stupid this year. Roads have been shit. We haven't had the salt cake prep.
