Who really cares why Speegs misses a day?

My only beef with them taking time off was when they took time off RIGHT AFTER THE DAMN SHOW STARTED. It was like, mac admitted they needed flight miles or whatever he called it, and there they were, working on not getting their chemistry together and it was weird.

I don't mind when Speegs is off. Fuck man, I like Finfer. I LIKE Rosner (a lot, I would LOVE to have him be a regular, he's funny, knows his baseball and hockey... shit, he's a NICE replacement for Meat).

It's clear though that Spiegel takes both aspects of his life seriously. It's not like he neglects his approach to either activity because of the other - he just misses a day here and there. And for me it's pretty simple: If his bosses don't mind then why does anyone else? I think the fact that so many people here seem to have a personal problem with him prevents objective judgment on the matter. If McNeil or Jurko had a side band, I don't think this would be much of an issue.

I agree with this, you can do two things at once especially when his music gig isn't an everyday thing. He also has this shit in his contract so it isn't like he is playing hooky and lying about not being able to come in. He negotiated and got what he wanted.

Secondly, McNeil wouldnt be McNeil if he did that and therefore wouldnt get the benefit of the doubt

The missed days are just the icing on the cake anyway.

If you noticed, the missed days stuff fell off a lot here, til he deemed it appropriate to refer to Matt Abattacola as a "part timer"

Curious decision for a guy that misses so much time.

Either way, Hockey wasn't discussed much and the Hockey Horn was used when something was being discussed that wasn't deemed interesting.

How could you be interested in the Blackhawks during those days where Wirtz was making the team horrible on purpose? Why would you want to talk about it on the air? Who would listen?

Goff is correct. He won't say it, but that is a complete bitch move by Mac.

The only time Mac said he had an issue straight to Goff's face was whene he questioned his use of DaaaMaaaNeee that one time. It was a quick conversation and it was over with. Nobody appeared to be under anyones skin. If Mac still had an "issue", why not just bring it up?

Nah. Mac took issue with the timing of it's use. Can't remember what was said, but Goffs response was DaaaMaaaNeee. This was shortly after the rehab stuff, so I think Mac was heavy into his feelings at the time. Didn't really seem like a big deal, but I guess Mac held on to thse hurt feelings and decided to post about them here instead of talking to a person he worked with for years and who looks up to him...

I fully support Spiegel taking more days off. Macs show is much better when Spiegel is off. I'm a big fan of Rozner & Finfer. Mac knows that Spiegel has no fans...not sure why he doesn't care...or maybe he does & Spiegel will be replaced by Jurko & Finfer? M, J & F would be a great show.
