Anybody catch this dolt on CSN live. I'm normally not a huge fan of Finfer but Wittenmyer made him look like one of the great thinkers of our time. This fat dwarf went on TV and had the audacity to question Derrick Rose's toughness and then said he wouldn't want a guy like him on his team. I'm not real familiar with Gordon Wittenmyer but he seems like one of the biggest asshats in Chicago media. He also came off as an abrasive asshole.

Cub beat reporters are always equal part cheerleader and fiction writer. I don't know how it is that people go into the job as independant and seem to lose all critical ability within a few months.

Well, I think it's easy to do. You're traveling around with these guys. Naturally, there will be guys you like. It has to be tough to write honestly about a guy you like when he's fucking up. That's why traditionally guys have been kept on particular beats only so long. It seems like Wittenmyer has been on the Cubs beat forever.

Do you think Cowley actually liked the Guillen's?

I couldn't agree more. Actually made me more tolerant of Congressman Finfer on Twitter.

I saw this show & was surprised that Finfer was a slim & trim guy. I thought he was about 3 spins? Did he lose a bunch of weight? He was good. I've always liked Ben on the radio & wish he would get a regular gig.

Finfer once pushed 3 digits!

I don't remember Ben being overweight. Finfer did a nice job on "SportsTalk Live" the other day on Comcast SportsNet. I bet he'll be on there again soon.
