So I am going to refinance my mortgage from a 30 year to either a 10 or 15 year mortgage & I've got quotes & offers from 5 lending companies, but I'm curious if anyone here has any experience with Townstone Financial & David Hochberg...OUR GUY!!!

Thanks in advance.

There are certainly people here that are much more qualified to answer this than me, but it seems that a guy in a radio ad might not be your best choice.

Advertising on the radio doesn't mean that he isn't good at what he does.

I'm basing this on the rest of the advertising. There used to be an ad running for the "no cut vasectomy". My urologist assures me that this is bullshit. And who can forget those wonderful Marconi commercials, and Mr. Hot Shot Hot Shot Hot Shot Hot Shot

WRONG

These guys are as good or better than anyone. I know a number of people who have gone there.

If you have perfect credit and a high income go to Wells Fargo and get the best deal. That is your simple answer.

If you dont have perfect credit go to Townstone, they work their ass off with tons of lenders trying to get you the best deal just as they said. This doesnt mean BAD credt

I have met some Mortgage Brokers in my day and they are complete idiots. They are given 2 or 3 originators, if they get a deal, they fill out the info and send it in. Usually those originators are giving bonuses, etc.

I am sure others here will have some great advice for you.

I'm sure Hochberg is a competent guy who knows his business, but my personal experience with him is that he's an asshole. Pretty much how he comes off in his commercials, I guess, so it shouldn't be much of a surprise.

When I was running a home improvement company we had a dedicated finance guy on staff. Before the economy completely crumbled in 2008, there were lots of good options to finance home improvements and we had programs set up and good working relationships with GE and Key Bank among others. Eventually, those big banks eliminated those programs. But we also did cash-out refis for certain types of customers. Our finance guy and I called Hochberg who was just an utter jerk-off over the phone at a time when we had a lot of business to potentially throw his way.

If I had some investment questions for you offline, would you be willing to give me some advice?

Much appreciated. I'll put together a PM for you. Marriage is on the horizon and I'm looking to do some different things financially to try to create some security. I don't have much experience though.

He cracks me up, but I love the call on the 3D Printer thing. While I think it is really cool, not sure it is going to be a household item.

IF you had a 3d printer ($1000), this is the kinda shit you can do with it, do you need any of this stuff?

I haven't done much stock trading lately, but in general the thought was that while Cramer clearly has some talent, no one would be good picking as many stocks as he does. He literally will have a positive or negative reaction to every stock out there. He chooses quantity over quality.

His books are interesting. You'd be better reading some of them rather than listening to him give 10 stocks he loves or hates every day while being entertaining.

Looks cool but I don't need it. But again look how many dot matrix printers got sold when home pc's blew up. Hardly anyone needed that either.

But he's bad even in that arena. There are guys that pick stocks everyday that are way better.

He just got thru on a gimmick. Its fine, but he probably knows less than the average financial analyst.

He's made a shit load of bad calls and bad predictions. I used to watch all the time, CNBC as well, years ago but quickly realized it's a market propaganda channel for the financial/govt. apparatus. Herding cattle into the slaughter pens.

I'm sure you are right. My experience with him comes from a long time ago. I've been retired for a while from the stock market game.
