I don't have a problem with a caller asking a host "How Ya Doin'?" as a big sports radio & talk radio consumer for that matter. I think the caller is simply trying to be polite when he/she calls in to a radio show, regardless if it's Dan & Terry, Mac & Spiegs, etc.

SHARK, I love you as only one man can love another, but when over 80% of the callers are asking the same question, it's time to change it up...when you're walking into Potbelly establishment on Harlem Avenue, do you order always order the Swiss and Turkey on wheat, original size? Or do you switch it up? That way, life is far less boring...

CTF, as for Potbelly, it's not always the Turkey that I order. They've also got a delicious Grilled Chicken & Cheddar, as well as a Pizza & a Roast Beef sub that I'll order.

As for a problem that I have, it's the show that follows it, but won't be on this eve due in part to really bad DePaul basketball at Syracuse that'll cut this show short @ 5P. On the "Laurence Holmes Show", three things piss me off. First, does Laurence need to scream in high pitch when he says "Herbie...LET'S GO!" before he starts the show? Second, since when did Laurence start calling the nighttime SCORE as "my show?" Third and finally, he hasn't done it as much lately, but when he has a caller on, Holmes used to say to everyone, "You're on The SCORE. What are your thoughts on...?" As if I can read his mind!

I can see it now...SHARK for Potbelly. You know, after a long hard day posting on the CSFMB, I really work up an appetite. Nothing satisfies my urges like a delicious Grilled Chicken and Cheddar. Potbelly...the only restaurant that can feed a SHARK!!

my last call lambasted Terry for saying "when has LeBron not been good in the playoffs".

Not sure how that's either regurgitation or what they "stamped for approval".

Yesterday on my way home I heard Bernsy reference Stinkfinger The Crow and an article he
wrote for that Blackhawks publication ( name escapes me ). Has he done this in the past?
I swear he has mentioned and agreed with Stink in the past but can't be sure.

Didn't Tim Baffoe (CBS Sports blogger) already address this in a blog of his 9 days ago?

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/02/25/ ... t-the-cup/

Is it a case of Dan not paying attention to the content on the local corporate site? The belief that being "Senior Columnist" allows him to steal what other just wrote? Or just another opportunity to employ his usual bag of discussion mechanics (as pointed out in the first two pages of this thread)?

Baffoe does a much better and more appealing job of addressing this topic. Bernstein's crutch of injecting the NBA illustrates his lack of understanding of the NHL playoffs, and hence any credibility on the topic.

I'd find you the show thread from that day where various people mentioned my call, but I'm far too lazy.

Yeah, he reads McClure pieces all the time when he needs someone with Blackhawks bona fides to reinforce something he thinks -- usually about fighting being dumb, fans being dumb, or Patrick Kane being an alcoholic.

And you know what? I wasn't that impressed with Potbelly. It was good, yeah, but not good enough for the price. I'd rather just slum it with Subway and get a shit ton of sandwich. And giardiniera is awesome, so there.

You called in on Feb 8th at about 4:00.

Here's the Wednesday Game Plan:

*2P: Sports Illustrated's Jack McCallum
How Impressive is the Heat's 15 Game Win Streak?

*3:30P: "The Second Half"

"Scoreboard Updates": David Schuster

The guys are nipped this afternoon due to DePaul/#17 Syracuse NCAA Basketball starting at the unusual 5P tip time from the Carrier Dome in upstate New York. Zach Zaidman & Jeff Blanzy have the call of DePaul's likely 43rd straight loss to a ranked team. Unfortunately, they didn't update the schedule, but this is a given. NO LAURENCE HOLMES TONIGHT! TBA follows DePaul/Syracuse around 7:15P-ish.

Well, DePaul pays The SCORE to air crap like that. It is a homecoming, I think for ZZ, who was a Syracuse graduate, I thought I've heard many times.

Bernsie just did the whole "I hear too many Blackhawk fans say...." again.

It was a good reminder to me to turn off 670 for the day.

SHARK speaks the truth about DePaul basketball. The school does pay The SCORE to broadcast their basketball games and will do so again next winter, too.

Unfortunately, when Laurence Holmes returns tomorrow night, he's got the dreaded "Oliver Purnell Show: Presented by GEICO" @ 8P. I'm not sure how much more patience DePaul administration has for Coach Purnell with a third straight losing season and another Big East dud, even before they & 6 other schools are leaving the current Big East to become the "Catholic 7" yet will maintain the conference name. The third (or fourth) year is usually when Purnell teams usually improve.

Don't radio stations usually pay the team to air games?

Only with big teams whose rights are worth bidding for and the White Sox. Also-rans usually buy the time and sell their own ads.

Ha, too funny.

How many Blackhawks fans do you think he has spoken to in the last 3 months?

Is he canvasing the local grocer and coffee shops for the real word on the street?

Pitt, sometimes it's the other way around. Listen to the end of tonight's DePaul loss at Syracuse. ZZ always says in the closing of EVERY DePaul broadcast that DePaul University buys the airtime for The SCORE to broadcast these games. In fact, before the Blackhawks left for 720 WGN Radio a few years ago, I bet you didn't know that the Hawks actually bought the airtime for SportsRadio 670 AM to carry the games. Honest!

In fact, The SCORE definitely pays a rights fee to carry the White Sox, and will nip these 2 goofs tomorrow when the Sox & Cubs meet in an exhibition game in Mesa, AZ. It's one of ONLY 2 Sox/SCORE Cactus League games that'll cut into Terry & Dan's airtime.
