Mac, Jurko & Finfer would easily be the best sports radio team in town.

Meatpants may me in trouble.

I'll take Jurko but keep Finfer out of it. He owes his career to Mac so he'd end up kissing his ass and turning the show into another circle jerk like The Gull already does.

I don't know if I could go that far, but it would definitely be an improvement on Mac and Candyass.

i haven't really seen any evidence of that when finfer's subbed for spiegel. finfer's radio voice has really improved although i still don't think it is a very strong one.

jurko and mac work great together but i still think the best duos would be bernstein and mac, and reunite silvy and carmen.

I don't have any empirical evidence for my postulation. I don't get to listen to Mac's show much, if ever. I believe it would go that direction since Mac seems to want to settle for comfort in his twilight on the radio. He did have a choice for his new partner out of anyone when Der Schnore rehired him and he plucked Spiegs from the Outer Darkness; a guy who would be eternally grateful and know whom his radio daddy is. Finfer has been with Mac forever so it would naturally follow he would behave the same way.

Now, Mackeyfish and the Stine? That shit would be epic but would never happen. I doubt either of the Dans wants a change in radio partner. Bernsie will ride out his time with Terry until Boers retires and then do solo shows unless he wants a new partner. And I doubt Mitch Rosen would ever tell either of the Dans whom their partners would be. They have too much pull at the station. Mac and Bernsie are the only real heavies in the 670 radio lineup. Boers is an outlier and everyone else is either a hack writer or a muppet with a microphone.

Totally agree on this. His speech impediment used to be really bad and a tough listen, but he's clearly worked like hell on it. Definitely give him a hat tip, but as you said... Still not good, IMO.

From what I have noticed Finfer can give Mac the assist and they just play well off each other and actually seem excited to talk about sports. Candyman has become a condescending prick who is moody as all hell half the time and can't wait to get hell out of the studio and do anything else. To get the best out of Mac at this point in his career you need an energetic and youthful co-host...not a 40 year old mope.

I think it's gonna end up Silvy/Waddle/Carmen on WMVP during the afternoons. Virtually all other programming will be from the nipple, except for a bit of Hoodie, Levine, Huebner and possibly Spain.

I do think Jurko will join Spiegs and Mac. The Jurko addition will mean some cuts elsewhere at the station, but not from any of the main shows. A few of those Joe O. types will be launched.

Weight will be cut.

Only a fat ass like Spiegs would name his son after a sandwich.

it's just what i feel would be best; but you're right, it'll never happen.

finfer at least is tolerable--bucky's right on about him too--i could only imagine what it would be like with jay zawaski...he makes finfer sound like casey fuckin' kasem.

That would be awesome. I know I'm in the minority on this one, but I hope Finfer gets a regular slot next to Mac.

I'm in that minority with you. Mac, Jurko & Finfer could be a thing.

I don't think this is the minority opinion though. I gotta believe that a high percentage of Mac listeners would prefer Mac, Jurko & Finfer over Mac & Spiegel. Meatpants has crapped the bed & is the least valuable commodity at WSCR.

This board is really the only barometer I know of to gauge public opinion of Finfer, and unless things have dramatically changed in the past few months, I believe many here don't care for him.

I think Finfer is a worse version of Drinky.

Either go just Mac and Jurko or add Jurk to the show now.

What I do not get is how Spiegs can not take this job seriously? Didn't Mac pull him off the scrap heap??
I'm guessing that the biscut better have a real good job cause I think the "Cover band gig " won't support the family named for food all to well.

When you google search Spiegel this one pic would always come up with a diagram of his brain

I guess from his days at sporting news.

One of the 5 parts of his brain was called "finding the best reuben sandwiches"

So, Im pretty sure he ACTUALLY named his kid after a sandwich

Not only that, he renamed his wife after a breakfast food.

If he has another kid, it has to be like Meatloaf or Chicken Marsala to complete the breakfast, lunch, dinner combination.

Perhaps Reuben is a Nom de plume.
