drat, it seems that my post up and vanished. i asked why do they do this? like i said, i postulate that it's so the sponsors get their name/brand out there on the track, but then again, who the fuck wants to sponsor some loser who's only gonna run 10-20 laps of a ~200 lap race? why wouldn't you run the whole race? can't afford the gas or something?

also, here comes EL SMOKECITO into the top-10/ish picture. methinks ricky stenhouse will not just end up giving up his position to tony, but he'll also give his blessing that it's OK for tony to "sample the merchandise" that he's paying all that $$$ to ride in his team's third car. the NASCAR casting couch video for Danica would prolly be some hot stuff, I reckon Tony has already sent a copy to Kasey for when it comes that time to get him a new ride (presuming that Kenseth is gonna be the 4th stewart-haas ride in 2014)

Sini , the Goodyear tires are $1600 a set and they aren't even dub. So if that money is coming out of your pocket you'd rather park the car and keep the money.

goddamn, so if the tires are $1600/set and you go through something like ~4-5 sets of tires per race, you're talking $10k for just tires throughout a race?

when you factor that in alongside gas and the other equipment necessary to run on raceday, let alone the crew salaries and whatnot, how much does it cost to actually run a ride for a cup race?

It just sucks me in. I can't even listen to Landslide anymore, and I love the Dixie Chicks cover of it!

Sorry...back to the track!

btw, pistone's moustache makes the little american flag pin rather redundant. sure, people from other countries might HAVE a moustache like that, but only americans can semantically "rock" or "own" a moustache like that.

the name pistone makes me retort with a gut-reaction of word-association with "fuhgeddaboutit"

and btw, WTF, smokester is already a lap down? i figure he's running ~12th-15th or something, so more than half of the field is already down a lap on a mile and a half course?

the fox announcers are pointing out that we're setting speed records as we go along here, so i guess the gen6 car is doing some of what it's supposed to do on a mile-n-a-half track.

oh and btw, does chicago still have any stations running the nascar radio feed? i've gotta get my WBC going on and i've got a soft spot in my heart for the national nascar radio broadcasts that have ~4 announcers playing a perpetual game of pass-the-baton as the cars race around the track.

oh hey guys, nemechek is back on! he's only -40 laps. maybe there will be the biggest wreck in nascar history while he's parked and then he can come out and race solo to the previously-unfathomable victory? smart like a fox that 87 team is, mm-hmm.

/me wonders what the lives of the actual joe nemechek fans are like. you know there's gotta be SOMEONE out there outside of his/team's family/friends who has to be an actual joe nemechek fan. it's kind of like being a minor league baseball team fan, or a supporter of the sheffield wednesdays or something. GO WIGAN!

Apparently his "Front Row Joe" moniker came from his days in ARCA.

Please refer to Kahne as "Kahndy" today because, holy shit, I could use the random "pops" cuz lord knows I'm not gonna get them during the TNA PPV tonight!

So, are we ever going to see the return of the Chicago Sports Network coverage? Or was the on=air meltdown of KS just too much to rebound from?

There will be live racesast coverage in the near future. We are going to overcome ks meltdown. We will have my on the call and ks in these threads. I have been busy and my work schedule has changed from last season.

Caution!!!

Rowdy is shot out of a cannon on these restarts. I've felt he is about the most "talented" driver the last few years... his volatility and the mental aspect is what holds him back. Million dollar talent, ten cent head.
