And that's the quote that got Rush Limbaugh whacked from ESPN, or as Bernsy would say, "The Booyah Network".

If we're offering up some famously atrocious song lyrics, "suckin' on a chili dog outside the Tastee Freeze" has to stand alone atop any list.

Eh, it's bad, but it's not THAT bad. I mean, he's painting a picture of rural Indiana. That's a way to do it. There's no excuse for "what the facts is."

Also, I know we're talking lyrics, but I always did like the riff from "Jack and Diane."

I think the lyric is actually "You know he knows just exactly what the fax is". You know, the fax he gets from the old El Paso police department informing him of the likelihood that two fugitives are on their way to his town.

The imagery created by "suckin' on a chili dog" is by itself enough to land it in the category of worst song lyric of all time.

"More Than a Feeling," has to be. "Peace of Mind" and "Long Time" are really good, but we're talking an all-timer here.

Was "Don't Look Back" on the first album?

Don't Look Back was on their 2nd album titled Don't Look Back. And the answer we were looking for is Foreplay/Long Time. Thanks for playing everybody!

I spend a month naming hockey threads after Magnetic Fields songs, mention "Don't Stop Believin'," and get hit with "puss rock." What a world.

God, "Magic Bus" is a terrible song. It's like all those years of indistinct "remarkably blues-like" Rolling Stones material that I'll never ever like. I want my Who songs to knock me on my ass.

I am a bit dissapointed SHARK if I am being honest. But perhaps you can lessen the blow. Who are some of your favorite non puss rocking bands?

If I'm not mistaken, Hub Arkush is a big Who fan. The show before this one has "Hub-stitute" for The Who's late '60s classic rocker "Substitute" & recently poked fun at Elvis Costello. Instead of Costello's "Pump It Up", Mac & Spiegs played "Hub Is Up" in the Noon hour today.

What about the cover of Hub in White Satin by the Moody Blues?

As Ken Harrelson would say...

No.

When The Drive plays that Moody Blues classic, I PTFB. Not for me.

"New Year's Day" is possibly the perfect U2 song. That or "With or Without You," which I hope is next. Anyone who reflexively hates U2 is a dink.
