If the very first sketch you mention isn't "Sausages," you're doing it wrong.

Scott Thompson is gay. The rest aren't, though Dave Foley looked disturbingly passable in drag.

Someone took down Bruce McCullough's "I'm the Poo Guy" monologue, along with "Fuck the Bank I Work For." That makes me sad.

I look at Miss Manythroats and I'm like, WHO WOULD FUCK YOU?

Even in high school, the whole "gay" thing never bothered me. Sure I have used that word to (wrongly) describe something as foolish or negative before but I never had to get past it to find humor or anything.

The Kids in the Hall are great. I have had it in my Netflix queue for way too long. Need to catch some of the older stuff as I found them a little later on in life. Wish they had Mr. Show as well...

I remember watching re-runs on comedy central and not really getting it. I think I was too young to understand a lot of the stuff.

In 8th grade, I started having anxiety attacks for reasons I'm still not sure of, and I missed about ten days of school that year with terrible, incapacitating stomach pains. I spent all those days home watching The Kids in the Hall and whatever else would be on Comedy Central during the day. Good times. Great sketches. Of course they missed on a few, but that's the nature of sketch comedy, isn't it? I mean, Mr. Show probably achieved the highest of the highs, and when they bombed, you had to throw your television away.

I don't understand "not getting passed [sic]" the cross-dressing. Where are these sketch comedy troupes where no one has ever had to dress in drag?

There it is, Darkside is, like, literally quoting from the Book of Bullying.

it's a very close race between "flying circus" and "mr. show" as the greatest sketch comedy show of all time, with KITH coming in a close third. when these shows were on their game, it was brilliant television.

and anyone who needs a "mr. show" fix can just go to youtube...i think just about all of their shows are on there, and a ton of "individual" sketches are there.
