This is John Feinstein and this is a CBS Sports Minute. Once upon a time, if you wanted to attend the ACC basketball tournament, you had to be born into a family with tickets. That's how tough it was to get inside the building when the ACC got together every March, usually in Greensboro, to pick a champion. There was NO public sale of tickets. If you gave LOTS of money to one of the eight ACC schools, you MIGHT be allowed to buy tickets. Otherwise, you'd better make sure your TV set was working the first weekend in March. Times have changed. The ACC now has TWELVE teams, and it will be fifteen next year. A can't-get-enough three-day event will become a wake-me-when-it's-over five-day event. Tickets? How many do you need? Once you could never buy tickets for an individual session, now, step right up: plenty available. Tradition is dead in college basketball, none more so than the mystique of the ACC tournament. I'm John Feinstein.
