Exactly. Terry knows that Dan is the FOTS (for it is He who declared such a few years back) and knows that the path of least resistance to cashing those cushy flagship radio show paychecks is just to smile and nod and rubber-stamp everything Dan says, cuz like, not only does Terry prolly want to avoid getting into arguments with an oft-screaming local Skip Bayless type who always insists that THERE IS NO ARGUMENT, but like, holy shit.... Dan does all of the heavy lifting and show-driving and whatnot, leaving Terry in the easier position of just being the veritable color man to Dan's Play-by-Play, so basically all he has to do is come along for the ride and he'll continue cashing what very well could be some of the largest checks in the station.

There's a Beardownesque type topic for everyone: who makes the most at the Score? FOTS Bernstein, the longest tenured guy at the station (Terry) or the semi-recent FA signing who had to be wooed over to avoid him possibly re-signing with the mouse or another local chicago sports/talker, or maybe even the once-viable Webio route?

Out of those three guys Terry would seem to have the least options elsewhere, so you might think that being in that position he'd get less than the other two guys.... but maybe there's some sort of a reward for being the longest-tenured Score guy without even so much as hints of going somewhere else (over the last 5-10 years anyways)... but who knows? Maybe BurnSTINE the show-driver has paper to keep him from going elsewhere, or maybe Mac's stated desire to not roll out of bed for less than $300k/yr factored into him getting top paper in order to ensure his prodigal-son-esque return.

Also, during the cubs/sox radio broadcast I heard Ron Kittle do a plug for some sort of Concussion Awareness/Research Center. Methinks they're burying the lead if they only run these commercials during White Sox baseball, cuz they would definitely get some synergistic publicity via B&B when Dan is standing tall atop his soapbox of righteousness.

No, Laurence Holmes will guest host the second half of the "B & B Show" from Real Time Sports in Elk Grove Village for the 5P hour (whenever White Sox/Cubs ends). Terry will NOT be there, and I think he's on vacation moving forward.

Zach Zaidman will guest host the nighttime SCORE from RTS starting @ 6P, as well as Wayne Randazzo with the latenight SCORE starting @ 10P, adjacent to where the much-publicized "Roast of Jeremy Roenick" will be going on at Belvedere Banquets. All I know about the Roenick Roast is that Saturday morning SCORE host, the Trib's Steve Rosenbloom, is supposed to throw out the first insult.

Damn, they have Laurence coming out to do a remote for ~1hr or maybe even less? ON A FRIDAY? I guess that's why Laurence cashes the big $375k+/yr checks over at the CBS Radio owned sports talker. I wonder what kind of a rugged manly dinner Laurence is going to get at RTS? I can see him doing the beer and burger thing for some reason, especially cuz I don't think Laurence is any sort of vegan/vegetarian/IRL-SUPERHERO.

I suspect he's continuing into his own show or going to the Roenick roast.

I think he's actually going to the Roenick Roast, Doug. The SCORE is supposed to give away the final 2 pairs of tickets to this evening's Roast during the live broadcasts that'll start with Holmes playing the roles of both Boers & Bernstein & Zaidman playing...You get the idea.

how did the score not know cbs sucks when infinity was being bought out? they should have held onto their gem. cbs ruined the score.

I think the Score and XRT were on the Westinghouse side of the Westinghouse/Infinity merger, which means they had been a CBS property ever since the XRT mom and pop sold. CBS's various mergers and de-mergers are really murky.

Compelling case but what if...

Its the booze.

Terry is a 75% retired older financially comfortable man. That SCREAMS noontime scotch.

Maybe Terry lays off the booze when Dan is out.

It would explain the laughing, stammering and general notgiveafuckedness

HMMM I hadn't thought of it that way. It'd definitely roll alongside my thought that Terry does his current schtick just to skate down the path of least resistance and cash those solid checks as easily as he can, adding to THE BOERS FORTUNE(tm) to make sure that Cary, Larry, Sherry, and of course Harry Boers are all looked out for via THE BOERS FAMILY TRUST to ensure that future generations of BOERSES are funded with the blood money that was laundered through his illuminati-level-conspiracy to promote the word of Dan Bernstein to infallible levels usually reserved for THE HEAD DIDDLER IN CHARGE, aka the pope.

You gonna tell me that all of this timing is random? That Catholicism picks a new pope in the same week that Terry Damn Boers goes solo? I'm on to you, Lou Malnati's Pizzaeria/Disciples. Your nefarious plan shall unravel in the headlights of my justice.

(yeah RPB, as my other epic non-sequitur post laid out.... I really have nothing as I listen to the ass-end of a mid-march cubs/sox game on SPORTSRADIO 670 AM CHICAGO, DER SCHNORR)

The Score has had podcasts at like 32 kb/s that are still right at about FM radio quality. I don't know how they do it. It wasn't VBR

I think it's just because the core tenets of a talk radio podcasts are voices, and since we're used to listening to said voices over the air via traditional radio we're not used to super high fidelity; it's why listening to the internet streams seems all trippy and weird to me, cuz like, i'm used to Dan Bernstein's words being of a lower fidelity. Hello double intendre.

I'm pretty sure if you were to merely dump the radio stream/feed to a .wav file and then save the finished dump as a 32kbps mp3 it'd sound rather similar. I'll test it out with LoHo/Double-Z tonight.

I just know when I've saved stuff at 64 kb/s or lower, it has sounded like a telephone call. Maybe my old copy of CoolEdit had really bad compression algorithms!

Sure he has. And he's rather good at it, too. Remember when Bernstein blew out his knee? There was Terry going solo, until they could line up guest hosts.

next time ill do it in flac then. i dont know this 64kb rate you speak of. it sounds familiar, something from my teen days... oh god my teen days. i remembered once i saved a bunch of music at 192kbs and to this day its still biting me in the ass. sounds like it was recorded with tin cans on strings, or terry boers isdn lining in from home.

the internet is getting faster for the sole reason of delivering quality audio and video. if you dont push it, they wont up the speeds.

Just listened to the podcast. Since I usually FF through the interviews, the content was about seven minutes worth of material. I also should note that I am a two time uncle. No births pending. Both children were birthed already.
