Veteran TV actor Malachi Throne has died at the age of 84.

He reportedly passed away on Wednesday night, but few other details were available.

The news was announced on Facebook.com by his actor pal Jim Beaver - in a post on Thursday he wrote, “My good friend Malachi Throne died last night. One of the finest actors and finest people I’ve been fortunate enough to know.”

Throne is perhaps best known for playing Robert Wagner’s boss on It Takes a Thief and False-Face on hit U.S. TV series Batman. He was also the voice of The Keeper on Star Trek.

In addition, he had a number of guest roles on The Six Million Dollar Man, Hawaii Five-O, Melrose Place, and Mission: Impossible.

The actor was an active member of the Theatre West Company in Los Angeles, and stage bosses have since paid tribute to Throne with a post on their official website, which reads, “Theatre West says goodbye to our friend and colleague Malachi Throne.”

A few weeks ago, MeTV actually aired a 2 part episode of "Batman" with Malachi Throne as the "Special Guest Villain" known as "False Face" from the first season in 1966. The episodes featured Throne sporting a semitransparent mask & a variety of disguises that made his real face unrecognizable.

Producers actually put a "?" and denied Throne credit in the first part of the 2 part episode. It wasn't until the end credits of the 2nd episode entitled "Holy Rat Race" when producers officially credited Throne as "False Face."
