Nathan for you: A young Jewish guy tries to improve small businesses with wacky ideas like poo flavored yogurt -FAIL

The Ben Show: A young Jewish guy that talks dirty and tries to be the clever guy while he interviews people from all walks of life-FAIL

The Jeslenik offensive: Stand-up vet Anthony Jeselnik has a "push the envelope" type show where he tries to find humor in child abduction, mass murders and people with cancer. -OK. This guy actually is funny, but I'm shocked at a lot of his stuff.

I wonder if some of these guys are some producers funny nephew. I have no idea how they hand out shows at Comedy Central.

The Jeslenik Offensive is just bad. It's not really that funny. Most of the laughs are simply "Oh my god, he made a joke about baby killing!".

I don't understand why they don't just have "The Burn" year round.

speaking of Jewish guys that have new cutting-edge Comedy Central shows, you forgot the uber-logoed KROLL SHOW that features the bug-eyed Nick Kroll doing his thing on a video screen (like MC Hammer before him). Kroll is so on point and having his fingers on THE PULSE of society that I believe his show started off with a recurring-bit called "Sex in the City..... for guys" and then he dared to go forth and give us what nobody was asking for: Himself in drag as part of the "Pub-liz-ity" sketch that featured him and some chick playing two women named "Liz" who run a hollywood PR agency. That sketch was planned to be a breakout hit as I've seen it on no less than ~3 episodes i've caught during flippage, including a big cliffhanger-esque deal during the season/series(? plz?) finale.

But yeah, the other thing I've noticed is that Jeselnik's show is basically Chelsea Lately for guys, just without a weekly guest because it's not formally a talk show and beyond that whose PR agent thinks "OMFG we gotta get 'em on jeselnik to drive up those sales"?? Nobody.

Although, I will give Comedy Central and their evidently-endless array of Jewish guys one tacit sini-seal-of-approval: the burn with jeff ross is alright. Again, it goes and grabs the comedic/comedian panel that Chelsea Lately popularized, but at least it gets a few laughs, even if it's laughing @ the comedians who go out of their way to work their schtick as hard as they can (Dave Attell tried really really reaaaaalllllyyyy hard to be the coolest guy on the room, not to mention that they had some chick named Natasha something-n-oth)er on a couple'a times to basically be the robin and provide female guffaw laughs throughout all of the other standups' material. I think it's Natasha Luggero or something? Either way she was totally useless except to go out of her way to fake a belly laugh at everything said. Enhancement talent or something

Sini,
You are right about Kroll. I totally forgot about him. He is funny doing his sketch comedy stuff. He kind of reminds me of that Portlandia show but funnier.

Whoa wait a minute... you like [500 logos] The Kroll Show?

I found it annoying and trying way too hard.... but then again, that's basically the MO for Comedy Central since Dave Chappelle left 'em hanging in 2005, which led to the Nedvolution in the form of Mind of Mencia. That was a show I really didn't like, but it got overtaken by Daniel Tosh years later.

Btw if you wanna join the 2012/2013 meme revolution and get LE SO EDGY XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD you had the essence of sharp in the form of Norm MacDonald's Sports Show. Oooooh yeah.

Would have been the best show ever if it was on HBO or Showtime

Cavemen was cancelled too early.

Nick Kroll could have been the next Ted Danson.

Yeah, Norm's meta sense of humor is something else. He's downright unfollowable on twitter during golf tournaments when he goes out of his way to tweet every thought he has while watching. I'm thinking it HAS to be some sort of a satire of celebrity "live tweeting" or perhaps just rabid sports fans doing their thing during a game.... or perhaps he just loves golf that damn much?

Either way, it's a wacky dichotomy to see him do a 180 from his usual reserved high-quality/low-quantity output to unabashedly low-quality/high-quantity output during...... TV golf.

True.

Make it once a week for a solid hour .... pure satirical comedy gold.

He probably has money on whatever particular match he is watching. Norm is a big time gambler.

Seems a simple formula.

Find a comedian who is pretty funny. Have him bring in his different friends from the stand up world.

For every non funny hack on TV, there are 100 real good stand up comedians out there.

Look at how many got popular from Last Comic Standing. They were nobodies, now they're famous.

Quite the untapped market...stand up

I can honestly say that I have never seen Whoopi's body.

So your list is looking like:

1. Oprah
1a. Whoopi

Am I missing anyone? Della Reese?

Mo'Nique could get it. Actually, Mo'Nique and the daughter from The Parkers could get it. I'm not even joking.

when you go for broke, that's usually what you end up with.

louis CK can offend, but he's just speaking his mind. the comedy isn't because it's outrageous, it's just honesty. a lot of what CC considers "edgy" is just a bunch of self-indulgent "comics" who don't understand what comedy is.

adult swim suffered from this kind of thing too, just trying to find "weird" for the sake of "weird" cartoons.

That's cause its hilarious. I love it.

I also like the Jeselnick show, but I gave up on the Ben show after half an episode, it was real bad.

Kroll show is unwatchable.

Tosh.0 is great.

I watch Workaholics but its not nearly as good as it was when it first started.
