Same problem as Dr. Ken. A friend who will remain unnamed was on this board at one time and mentioned it. I tried to apply and never was responded to. Then I emailed the admin and never got a response. Tried again months later when I heard it on MJH and got in.

I loved reading the bored after hearing Mac talk about it, but, well, intimidating isn't quite the word for it, but every fantastic thought ever I had showed up a post or two after I thought it! I have commented several times how amazingly quick-witted some folks here are, and what terrific memories, as well (what with no Search Function to help out). I made a few guest posts, in fact I was going to sign up as "1 Guest", since it was always a dozen members and 1 guest reading a forum.

The loss of HHJ and how this community responded got me to sign up, I just had to. The place hasn't been as good since-

I think my first fight was with IrishBoy over LaDainian Tomlinson because I thought he was a wuss for not trying to play through an injury in a playoff game.

I head heard Mac cite the board a few times during the afternoon drive time back in the MJH days. I was what you would call an everyday listener to sports-talk radio as a I was driving a cab at the time.

I think I heard some thought being discussed from a Steve in Elmhurst or perhaps a Hawkeye Vince and thinking how stupid it was, so I made it over here to check it out. I don't recall any sort of registration issues. I pretty much made a username, but a self-deprecating one as I know how online communities can be harsh to new posters. I've flown under the radar here for about five years now, as I kept most of my posts sports-related and rarely engage in Board-isms, feuds, or anything much outside of the pure sports or radio-biz related thoughts.

One thing I did notice right off was the obsession with mults, for some reason had some downtime one night and read the entire "One Screen Name per Person" topic and it was quite clear that there were some unique personas here and that people had no problem crossing certain thresholds I wasn't entirely comfortable with getting into on a message board. I guess I have stuck to that philosophy ever since and will probably still keep mostly to the Baseball and NASCAR topics.

No actually, after a time ... real talk here... you became in my minds' eye -- a tragic yet sympathetic figure of sorts, as a young and wayward Apologist also did a bit of time. I actually have a physical reaction reading some of JORR's posts on the subject.

i was told of this board by someone. i had another name before my account was locked after a crash. but i lurked at 1st. seem to be certain people sand box and didn't like new kids. after my 1st post i was jumped on. after awhile some cool people came around. i don't post much but enjoy this board.

Been Lurking/Posting for 6 years. I think i have 200 posts in that time. I cant keep up with everything going on here. Too many fights, pruning, trash talking, circle jerks, people thinking their post total means something, and all around douchebaggery. However, it is very entertaining.
