an eighth (of an ounce) is 3.5 grams, theoretically speaking. ergo, that's just under 10 eighths, which means that sounds like you're talking about a relatively-nice sized ounce, i spose.

some people buy ounces for a price where they can sell like 1/2-2/3 of it nad get their own personal weed at a nice price, some people just buy that much at once for a discount.... but it'll last an individual smoker for a bit. figure if a "fo'real" pothead goes through an eighth every day or so, that's enough to last them a week.

since the eighth is, for most practical purposes, the denomination that most people buy, and that's roughly 8 of them, well then.... yeah do the math. it's a bunch of weed and i reckon it's where criminality starts to hike up into "there's a good chance you were looking to distrobute this and not give us our cut so we're gonna slap you with some solid punishment" territory.

It's 2 grams over an ounce. It's a decent supply for a regular everyday smoker. I would go through that much in a week of smoking, but that's just me.

also, ken, did some nephew or niece get busted recently and you're trying to ascertain how bad the ensuing shitstorm will be?

Like others have said, it's a couple grams over an ounce. For an individual it would last anywhere from 1 week to a couple months, although you're usually not getting an ounce at a time without at least a quarter/week habit. A party of like 10-12 stoners could easily kill that much at one party. So it really could be A, B, or C, but it is definitely not D.

I believe if you get caught with that much it would just be a ticket in Chicago, pretty sure it's not a felony.

I've known Chicago cops who bragged about carrying bird seed in order that misdemeanors could be helped into felony charges.

They are more harsh now days with heroin possession.

It says that 2.5 grams or less is 30 days incarceration. I thought 2.5 or less was just a slap on the hand and a small fine.

I have had friends busted with more than that and didn't get felony charges. I could see if you had priors they might look to prosecute you harder, but not a first time offender. I'm not a lawyer though, can we ask Spada?

It is. You have a good chance of walking away with a grow up lecture if all you have is a gram.

From my experience, Chicago cops could care less about the weed, they are looking for guns and the white girl. If I have any weed on me when I'm about to be searched, I just tell them, they would just take it and let me go as long as I had nothing else going on. That's just me speaking from personal experience, obviously if the cop was having a bad day, I could see them being a dick about it.

It's a moderate amount of immorality.

Really no reason for a non dealer to have more than 30 grams at a time.

I mean I suppose if you want to buy in bulk but tats a lot for one person. Dark side said a month I'd say that's the high end.

I know guys that smoke daily but still only about an 1/8 every other week. (7 grams a month)


Id guess Those 30 were either for resale or he was picking up for some friends too

I don't think an ounce/month is high end, really. A gram a day isn't that intense of a habit. If you're buying that much at a time for personal use I'm guessing that's actually the low end and its more likely you're smoking it in about two weeks. I'm guessing its also likely you need to find some better shit if you're smoking that much, but I still know plenty of guys that do.

Everyone's different. There's blunt guys and hitter guys. I never understood blunt guy. Just lower your tolerance and save money and your lungs to a certain extent quite naturally
