I'm all for switching up the lineup to face the left-handed pitcher, IF they have the players to do so. But this team doesn't. Can they just start the 8 best position players each night?

And those 8 best players change drastically based on which arm the pitcher throws with.

Specifically, look at Schierholtz' and Hairston's splits. Drastic.

I'm biased because Hairston doesn't do anything for me. That said, despite Schierholtz having horrid numbers versus lefties last year, his career OBP isn't much different than Hairston. DeJesus's numbers versus lefties aren't terrible either. Not sure what the numbers versus Wandy are.
