There is a place in Indiana. I am guessing not so plentiful of gold, more of a tourist trap.

Took a ride while in vegas, 2 hours into the desert to a mining/panning site. Guys out there all day, sunrise to sunset.

Issue is, June, July, August, you will probably die out there 110 heat!

Lotsa homework and making sure my current investment pans out in May, or I might be shoveling!

The original thought is Alaska. plentiful good found in concentrates is not the issue. Expenses of getting there and logistics.

Could be taking a few days trip their solo next month, check it out first before dropping $$$ on it. I would be taking a vacation, you wouldnt be.

I am well versed in hiring a bunch of guys to work like dogs for the day while I watch! Errr direct!

If you guys have CPAPs you should be aware the hooches don't have electricity, so you'll need to get adapters to hook them up to a car battery. But the camp will recharge the batteries for you.

They have electricity to the cabin from 6 AM to 10PM, fed via generators, so I assume that gives you 4-6 outlets. Dont need a light bulb as daylight is about 20 hours at that time of the year.

Biggie, that's only to the main camp - not to the hooches. So unless you plan on sleeping in the mess hall, you better get some battery adaptable stuff. Solar things might work better though if they really do get all that sun (no clouds blocking the way.)

I'd also recommend getting your immunizations done again... the hospital in Nome is more of a first aid kit and they have to fly you to Anchorage to get any real work done.

I will sleep on a bed of nails. It would not be the first time. Sun at night would not be a bother either. Think of it as a hard labor vacation. Good times.

Don has the winner right there.

Biggie is still paying for everything right? I mean I assume that is the case since he's gonna be living it up in a Motel 8 while we are going to be stopping KS from taking advantage of us in our gold rush fever state of mind.

I've already told my wife that this is happening. I described it as delicately as I could...

I'm going to Alaska to pan for gold. I'm going with some gents I met on the internet and we are all sleeping together in a 'hooch'.

I believe she rolled her eyes and called me crazy but she didnt say no. SHe probably just thinks I'm a secret burrito...

I organized an Alaska trip like this several decades ago- fish business substituted for gold panning- but some similar story lines: slept in tents, didn't shower for weeks, wiffleball games at midnight. Made twice as much money as our normal summer jobs, came home with about the same bank due to high expenses. Made memories for a lifetime: first time offered real cocaine- by my supervisor while at work (refused it);10K mile road trip included bike week in Sturgis SD, 300+ pound halibut, eating fresh-trapped crab, etc. AWESOME, DO IT!

Don thinks the idea is so nice he answered twice.

If it gets to below 35 in the hooch I suppose I could be talked into some cuddling.
