Regardless, having another team 8 miles away is not helping things.

Wouldn't hosts urging you to go to the park be similar to them telling you to listen to B&B at 1, or Holmes at 6, and so on? It just seems like standard pro-company talk. That doesn't mean we have to like it, but I am wondering if it's just ordinary business/sales practice.

There is a difference in just promoting the event itself.

Talking about the good time you had doing things at the park, is a sales job in itself. This is why I thinki the Sox announcers are just terrible. They all dislike each other and have nothing to say positive.

Now, telling people to go, almost complaining is not the key.

"IF" they gave me the job for a year, as an example, I would have Stone and Hawk eating in the booth from one of the food stands, show the food. Get some video of Stone throwing in the fundamentals.

That would actually Promote the park without telling fans they are the reason for not getting free agents and it might even improve the communication between Jerrys buddies who dislike each other.

Pretty soon this formula will be needed with the Jim Deshais lack of though-0-thon!

It would if the Score didn't, whenever called on it, swear up and down that they have no relationship with the White Sox beyond carrying their games and that their regular programming has complete editorial independence from the White Sox. Thus, we are to believe that either the various Score personalities have independently arrived at the conclusion that White Sox attendance is mandatory and we must put aside our hatred of driving, parking, blacks, and Jews to spend money we may not have, or that someone is telling the hosts to say something about getting people to the games and that their purported editorial independence is a load of shit. So which is it?

Now if they told us to listen to B&B in a way that is similar to how they tell us to go to Comiskey, now that's A Thing!

I think thats a very underrated reason why they have issues

I cant tell you how many times I was invited to Sox games with the pitch "Well just buy the 8$ seats and hang out on the concourse"

Sorry, JerrBear, but watching at home on tv is just way better than that Upper deck.

I almost never sit in my seats. If they had a standing room season ticket on the 100 level at say, $20-25 a game, I'd buy the whole season instead of the 30 or so I buy now. But they probably wouldn't do something like that when they have so many empty seats.

I do think the whole "different levels" thing hurts a team like the Sox, who- even though it isn't really true- likes to promotes themselves as a "blue collar team, Chicago tough". Then you treat the guy on the concourse like a fucking criminal and shut off his beer early while the CEO in the skybox can drink Scotch and sodas until after the last pitch.

The best part of being in a box is drinking the booze until the whole park is empty and the staff has to finally kick you out after several warnings.

Agree 100% with this. Walking the concourse and watching the action from different aspects is great.

I think the Ligue thing is part of the reason WSOX have done some of the things you are complaining about. WSOX kind of screwed themselves. They didn't have enough security. Stuff happens. WSOX overreact. Now nothing happens partially because of what is upsetting you.
