Disagree Hank, the best part is the first time you finish a beer and realize you neednt find a vendor or walk anywhere, just open the fridge and grab another canned Heineken

I think the Ligue thing is part of the reason WSOX have done some of the things you are complaining about. WSOX kind of screwed themselves. They didn't have enough security. Stuff happens. WSOX overreact. Now nothing happens partially because of what is upsetting you.

 Ya think?

Ligue gets a bad rap. He's a scumbag but if it were just one time, it would have been fine. It became a "thing" that year.

I remember a game that year where 4 people got on the field and the crowd was actually chanting "Who's next"

Hmm..it seems sort of similar to the conflicts interest that characterize ESPN's business and journalistic divisions, albeit on a much smaller scale. I can't help but think they're encouraged to talk up the park.

Then they should stop getting so fucking indignant every time someone points out the conflict.

Yeah beni stating the obvious. It did become a thing and not just a one time thing. But WSOX totally overreacted. The whole idiots on field and how WSOX continue to handle it is still hurting the average fans game experience.

I think there's some misuse of the "WSOX" pejorative. It's supposed to be the callsign for the Score when they act as the house organ. It's not supposed to mean the White Sox themselves.

But it's not incumbent on me as a fan to be concerned about what some moron does.

If some guy shoots up Smith & Wollensky and they put in a policy that every customer henceforth shall be strip-searched at the door, said policy might make sense to corporate. But guess what? I'm going over to Chicago Cut where I don't have to put up with that nonsense. And then Smith & Wollensky can have their media lackeys attempt to shame me into returning to what they themselves have made an uncomfortable experience.

#TRUTH I think. Need to look up pejorative. It's laziness. Quicker to type in any situation involving the team, marketers and or its denizens depending on the situation. I will change my use of said phrase in the future.

I think there's one other thing at work here and it goes pretty much for all sports. The owners or people running the show know there is a difference between a "fan" and a "customer". I'm a fan of the White Sox. That's a powerful thing. I'm not a fan of Jerry Reinsdorf. Or even Paul Konerko. They're incidental. They are here. Someday they'll be gone. Teams exploit that loyalty. I'm always going to go to Sox games. They just aren't getting me for as much as they could if they treated me better.

That was my thought.

While I think you would agree they love saying they would do anything for you, they just don't.

I know you box of junk at the end of the year from all the promos that they have stuff left over.

Fact is you will be going to the games, what do they do to get someone new into the place? I think very little.

McNeil and Spiegs also brought up another point today. Who gets all that parking money? I know the state bought the land, or at the very least provided the money for the land. Would love to see that one untangled.

I of course am just guessing that the state funded some LLC, which Jerry is the managing director of and they own the land and get all the revenues. I think Frank might even agree that ones wrong!

I'm guessing Jerry gets that money because I've seen them change the pricing depending upon how full the lots were immediately before and/or during the game.

Is it too expensive to go all the way to 115th Street? With those scary blacks? Could having a host named BERNSTEIN have anything to do with it? Say what you really mean, Chicago sports fans! Stop making excuses! Bud Light: HERE WE GO!

Like fucking Rembrandt, this guy.
