Looks to me like this team might be on pace for another 100 loss season the way the line up looks. That would be 200 losses in 2 seasons Theo's been here.

I don't think that was what Cub fans got excited about when he sign on as GM...

Nah. Much worse stuff posted around these parts....much worse.

Theo has time, but not an infinite amount, to get the job done. If there is a 3rd and 4th season with or close to 100 losses you will probably see the pitchforks and torches.

I get what he's trying to do, but eventually, he'll have to spend some cash or the Cubs won't win. That's the MLB.

And with them constantly whiffing on trades and free agent signings, the rebuild overall is not looking pretty.

What trades has he really whiffed on assuming you are counting Ian Stewart

Constantly? This is the 2nd year Theo the Wizard Genius and His Magical Computer, right? I think you might be a little over the top with that language.

"EVENTUALLY" you will be correct

But it's not now and it just makes you look like an idiot to even start asking the question.

If Baez, Rizzo, Almora, Castro, Soler & Co are in the starting lineup and the team stinks, you better believe the Cubs fan will be calling for his head!

PLAN C Now In effect!

I'm talking about the Marmol and Dempster trades. They got destroyed last minute in both and they got next to nothing for Dempster despite the fact he was a hot asset at the trade deadline. they might as well had kept him.

So about mid next season then. As much as I hate to say it, it's probably going to happen

Considering Dempster had 10 and 5 rights, really hard to pass any sort of judgement on that. Considering he refused a trade to the Braves and tried to force the Cubs into a move to the Dodgers.

Man, I forgot how much I fucking hate ryan dempster.

I have a feeling in the cockles of my heart that the number who think the plan sucks will grow much larger in the near future.

Id go 70/30 with the blame Ricketts/Theo

Just hope Joe takes over the operation at some point

The fact remains that Theo should not even be here. Ricketts should have cleaned house at least one season after becoming owner. He could have then
hired a Baseball President of Operations to go through the interview process of finding a new GM. Ricketts chose to let Hendry exist for 2 lost seasons before making a move. Theo comes in and insists on total rebuilding which I'm fine with except for the fact he refuses for the most part to put some decent hitting on this team. Does it really retard the rebuild to go plug about 3-4 holes with ML hitters?

The first scapegoat is going to be Sveum, then Ricketts. I think Epstien is insulated until at least 2016. Those prospects don't have to really even produce in 2015 (it really is unreasonable to think they would produce immediately). They just have to arrive by that date.

If Soler is here next year, Baez is here in 2015 and Almora is here in 2016, that is objectively pretty good organizational progress (from scouting to drafting to developing). When they don't win, Sveum will get axed. If they don't spend on FA pitching, Ricketts will get killed. If those three guys progress, even if they don't win, Epstien will get a pass.

The guy who thinks Theo sucks says the Cubs should have kept Dempster on an expiring contract.

Theo should have been fired when the Cubs lost on Wednesday.

And Marmol should be the driver. They both can leave town.

The thing is, telling the fan base of a team that hasn't won in over a century to wait another 3-5 years while teams like the Cards rebuild and compete at the same time is unbelieveable. And they had the nerve to even raise ticket prices. They better hope they can at least avoid the 95+ loss mark, because if they stink it up again like last year, they might start to see more empty seats at Wrigley than they ever imagined.
